image Namco Bandai will release Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link for PlayStation 3 in Japan on May 29. This game is part of a series of Gundam spinoffs that started with the Sega Saturn title Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny.

Famitsu reports Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link will have a compilation of HD remakes of other spinoff games including Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny, Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Space, to the End of a Flash, Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles. The HD remakes will have the same voice actors from the original releases with revised gameplay systems based on Missing Link.

Well, now. This could be interesting.

  • neocatzon

Ok, this is getting more interesting. Can’t wait for gameplay vids.

  • KazukiNanbu

awesome! i will import it as soon as posible because i don’t think they are going to release it here

    • KnifeAndFork

Email Namco and tell them to localize. How we got Saint Seiya but not Gundam is crazy. Jojo too which the majority of the manga is not even released in the West

      • Ferrick

because gundam is pretty much in the niche category in the west

        • DaiRaiOh

More so with One Year War era things

          • Ferrick

yep, correct me if i’m wrong, but didn’t the west get wing, seed and 00 only ?

          • DaiRaiOh

We got most Gundam series and core OVAs. Only ones the west didn’t get were Age, X, Turn A, and ZZ and some of the smaller OVAs, specials, and SD things. OYW just isn’t exactly an easy thing to sell in the West as it’s not a very noob-friendly (For lack of better terms) era. It might be after Gundam: The Origin’s anime is finally released, but till then, one can never expect any OYW things getting released here outside of Gundam: The Origin’s manga

        • miyamoto

This one might actually see a western release.

          • Ferrick

hopefully, but wouldn’t expect too much for it to happen

  • Serephitus

wow if thats true, definitely getting it

  • KnifeAndFork

Well that’s cool but where’s War from the Ashes?

    • Guest

      its included! White Dingos rock!

  • ZEROthefirst

Well I was getting this before and now I’m DEFINITELY getting this.

  • Mr_SP

Okay, that’s interesting… But does that mean that it’s a series of HD compilations, or that they’re going to reproduce the plots and missions of those games, and include them in Missing Link? Because “gameplay systems based on Missing Link” kind of implies that, but does not confirm it.

    • DaiRaiOh

Likely reproducing them ingame considering most of the resources to do so are already there and the gameplay lends itself to it as the common theme with them are the squad based elements

  • DaiRaiOh

As a big fan of Lost War Chronicles, this is the best news ever to me

  • KyoyaHibari

    Woah, this sounds intriguing.

  • Fate

  • Aristides

    I must have this 0-0!

  • Kaijumaster

aww, missing Rise from the Ashes. but a remake of Blue Destiny & Lost War chronicles is amazing, pity it won’t come stateside….

  • Fox

This is… weird. I’m cautiously optimistic for the game (not too excited, given how terrible Battle Operation was–I assume the Senki developers are working on the upcoming PS4 game), but I find this worrisome.

On the one hand, yeah, it sounds awesome… but on the other hand, it indicates that they don’t have enough faith in this as a standalone game. Hell, even the glorified demo that was the Gundam Unicorn PS3 game was sold by itself, albeit at a lower-than-normal price.
