Visual novels are a dime a dozen, but we’re always interested when the premise isn’t all about the ladies. In this case, Australian-based devs Invert Mouse have done up something to pique our curiosity by billing their latest game, Unhack, a visual novel and puzzle game.
The game has players working alongside AI companions to unravel the supposedly very deadly 5K computer worm virus. By working your way through systems heavily infested with viruses, malware and security gates. Did no one in this place ever bother to install an antivirus or something?
Showcasing her voice talent, Xanthe Huynh—who voices Meruru in Atelier Meruru and Sachi in Sword Art Online—is part of the voice cast for the 10 episode game that unfolds as players move around the puzzle-based mazes.
For now, the game’s available on Invert Mouse’s website (Including a free demo) for the low, low price of just $5. You could also help the game get Steam Greenlit over here. Unhack is available on PC, Mac and Linux.
