Meet The Witch, The Doctor And The Goddess In Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land

By Sato . February 24, 2014 . 4:31pm

We previously got a look at Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land’s tiny magical elf-like creatures, known as “Harvest Sprites”. The latest update on the game introduces us to a cute mini-Harvest Goddess, a small witch, and a charming flamboyant doctor.

Little Harvest Goddess:

The Little Harvest Goddess was a recently born goddess, who is new to the game. While she has the spirit of a proper goddess, she’s a bit lacking on the magical side, and fails every now and then, so she still has ways to go in becoming a goddess.

She can be a little sensitive at times and cries if she fails continually, showing a little bit of a childish side to her.

Little Witch:

The Little Witch was wandering around and just so happened to come across the town in Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land. She took a liking to the town, and has decided to live there since.

Unlike the Little Harvest Goddess, she possesses extremely powerful magic; however, she can be a little childish at times. She might have a short temper, but deep down, she’s honest and kind.

Marian is the doctor in the guild’s clinic. She is actually quite the flamboyant older-sister type of character… and she is actually a he! Regardless of her personality and appearance, she’s actually quite the talented doctor.

Thanks to her being able to communicate well with people of either gender, they often go to her regarding relationship issues, and for gossip. She also seems to get along with the rancher, George, as well.

Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land will be released in Japan on February 27, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.

  • I was gonna question if Marian identifies as a man or a woman, but something tells me that won’t matter as much when the game is localized.

I really like their design, though.

    • I was thinking exactly the same thing.

  • It’s cute and refreshing to see the goddess and witch so young, and the witch has a hairstyle I’m quite fond of and I’m glad it’s being used more often~.

    The doctor especially has my eye though. I’m pretty curious about him/her, but I was basically thinking the same thing as Linka. ^u^;

    • FlobotingIt

Never mind!!! Silly me! Don’t worry about it!

      • 0u0??

I’m so curious now, what was your comment? x’D

        • Serge

          He asked who was Linka.

        • FlobotingIt

What Serge said. I thought you were referencing another character, ha!!!

    • Serge

“and the witch has a hairstyle I’m quite fond”
Blonde girl with drill hair? Wait, now that i think about it…All the drill haired girls are blonde D:

      • otakumike

        Not all. ;D

      • Not drill hair alone necessarily, but the upward drills.

  • TempestTwin

    Palutena: chibi version

    • Shadowman

      I know right!!

  • Aqua King

I’m waiting for the game where it doesn’t block you from perusing any relationship.

  • FlobotingIt

I’m very excited about Marian. Granted, Natsume might nix the idea of gender identity and just make her a biological female… Shame. So much potential. That being said, I feel like regardless of if Natsume makes these changes or not, there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of having her be a marriage candidate. But we’ll see…

    • doubleO7

I could *maybe* see them making Marian a candidate, they’ve certainly had “interesting” candidates before, but only for the girl. Hell will freeze over before Natsume adds gay marriage to Harvest Moon.

      • FlobotingIt

I feel like Hell will freeze over before Natsume even references the existence of gay marriage in America. Which is really stupid, because it’s getting to the point where if there is any form of gender or sexual deviation from the norm in a video game, people will pay attention to it. It also frustrates me because my sister is actually a lesbian, and though I enjoy these games, it’s like they’re ignoring she exists. She doesn’t play them… Ha, ignore some of that… Just kind of ranting. But yeah. I’d buy any special edition for this game if it had the doctor as a marriage candidate for the man.

      • Enma_Kozato

Natsume doesn’t make the games, Marvelous does. They just localize the series for the NA region. Poorly :v However, the best friends feature in DS Cute did get nixed when the game crossed the pond.

        • doubleO7

Oh, right. They just do localizations. My mistake.

          • What you said wasn’t inaccurate though. Previously, they cut what was technically the option for gay marriage in DS Cute when it was in the JP version. So yeah, Natsume won’t let us have things even when MMV gives the option.

  • Lemski07

insta buy. if it gets localized

  • fyi1191

Fingers crossed on them bringing back Goddess and Witch as marriage candidates. Well, their adult version of course.

  • HershelLousyton

    Mini Palutena is adorable.

  • Rogerrmark

I hope characters have a routine, instead of teleporting like A New Beginning.

    • I don’t understand why they keep going back to the teleport thing. They have them with a routine, then a game or two later they’re teleporting and they flop back and forth.

      • Rogerrmark

        It´s very strange indeed.

Teleporting makes the game way less imersive to me (even though I liked A New Beginning a lot…), hopefully it won’t be like that :/

        • Same here. It actually drops my mood while playing because of how I have to struggle to keep up with characters.

          Lets hope~.

  • s07195

Nice change of pace for Harvest Moon harvest goddesses~

  • Akira Takeshima

Is there an estimate on when this will be localized?

  • Mai

You guys, it isn’t young Witch Princess, it’s Witchkin from Sunshine Islands.
