image Lumines maker Q? Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment have been working together on free-to-play titleĀ Destiny of Spirits for PlayStation Vita.

Players collect spirits which you can use in battle, but the types of spirits you collect depend on where you physically are. If you play Destiny of Spirits in North America, you’ll find Native American spirits in the game. Play the game in Japan and you can catch youkai.

Sony held a beta test for Destiny of Spirits back in October. Famitsu reports the game will be ready on March 20 and has been improved since the beta.

While Destiny of Spirits has been announced for North America and Europe, it is unclear if the game will see a simultaneous worldwide launch.

The beta was pretty fun. I hope they do more collaborations with Sony first party titles like they did with Gravity Rush.

  • Learii

    I can’t wait

  • AlteisenX

I thought it was cancelled or something after the beta lol. I haven’t heard a peep about it since. The screenshot looks nice compared to what I saw at E3. Dunno how interesting it will be for me but I’m curious. This is a free to play game correct?

  • Somebodyissilent

I can’t wait. Played the beta and loved it.

I wish there was a way for people who can’t travel to get all these…

The game features a mechanic where you can lend or share your spirits with people from your (game-internal?) friendlist, so it’s possible to get spirits from the other two out of three regions (America, Europe, Asia).

Well thats good. Now I just need some japanese friends with vitas.

  • Nanaki

    YES!!!! So glad. :)

  • new_tradition

So this does require the internet, right?

    • TheExile285

Yep. Can only be played online.

  • MaximDualBlade

Man I hope it’s worlwide release
This game reminds me of Magic the card game, and that is awesome, especially if it’s free to play

  • TheExile285

I hope they made a lot of good changes.

Considering that there are overlaps with some of the spirits in China and Japan, I wonder what happens if you play this in China. :S

  • The EU release date is the 26th March, so it’s sort of a simultaneous release.
