Granblue Fantasy Finally Setting Sail In Japan This Month

By Eugene . March 6, 2014 . 12:12pm

After two months of waiting, we finally have a date for Granblue Fantasy, the smartphone game from Cygames that has music from Nobuo Uematsu and Final Fantasy VI Art Director Hideo Manaba’s involvement. The game will launch March 10th.

The first reason for the delay was to give the game a little more time for spit and polish, with another reason being to ensure that server demands would be met.

It seems expectations are high for the game in Japan.

Granblue Fantasy will be available on smartphones March 10th.

Between this , dqm super light and rise of mana I’m pretty much set in terms of gaming time, stamina meters or not.

I’m still annoyed that this is on a smartphone. Such a waste.

So disappointing. Feels like a waste of talent, too.

        I agree with you both

Silly goose, I’m a gamer! Whining is what we do best.

This and Wonder Flick are where things get serious IMO. They are trying real hard to not make these BS card games and if the money starts flowing expect the shift to mobile to speed up.

As long as the site still says 【利用料】アイテム課金制, I can’t see this or anything like it being a legitimate game instead of a cash grab, no matter how many serious features they add.

They really should port this to consoles later

I’m really confused by this and maybe you guys can clarify? Is this game strictly browser-based? I looked at the Japanese App Store for it and it isn’t there, but I can play it on my phone in Safari. Is this a new trend? I would really prefer an app that I can download because having to play it in my phone’s browser just seems ridiculous.
