Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Shows Rise And Fuuka Helping Out

By Sato . March 7, 2014 . 2:18am

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth lets you set up parties with characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4. You’ll even be able to make Teddie smile with his own harem party full of girls. When you’re in the dungeons you will also be needing some tactical support. Atlus gives us a look at the role in their latest videos with Fuuka and Rise.

Fuuka Yamagishi from Persona 3 might be a little shy and nervous, but the always friendly member of S.E.E.S. will be doing everything she can to help you out in Persona Q. She won’t be able to assist in the fight against Shadows, but she’ll be using her knowledge to help you beat them and find things while exploring.

Meanwhile, Persona 4’s idol Rise Kujikawa will play a similar role to Fuuka, as a tactical support member. While she will be provide similar support in combat and on the field, she’ll continue to be her usual cheerful self and it looks like you’ll have more humorous dialogue with her on your side.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be released in North America this fall for Nintendo 3DS.

    Rise-chan… How I’ve missed you :3

    • DeadLineDance

      Risette all the way!

      • Mirai

Sorry Fuuka but after the huge power-up Rise got in Golden, she’s a much better support character than you are. So Rise FTW!

        • Landale

As far as the story’s concerned, Fuuka is far superior to Rise in terms of support capabilities. It’s just a question of whether or not they’ll show that in the mechanics.

          • Mirai

Yes, P4A is proof of that. In all seriousness their support skills are going to be roughly the same In this game. It’ll just be a matter of “Which character do you prefer?”

          • natchu96

Story seems to paint Rise to having better buffs . . . of course, the team has buffs already and the only real reason the teams need a support member is for scanning shadows. Fuuka is clearly superior in that respect.

          • Hound

I prefer buffs over “analyze” in Atlus rpgs

  • malek86

Rise lost pretty much any cred points she had with me for her remarks during the second-to-last dungeon.

    • notpathetic

Rise lost all her appeal for me when she said ‘So thats what you are into, senpai…How disappointing…’. :)

    • DeadLineDance

You mean Golden, or what? Details, plz.

      • malek86

When Adachi is giving you his hannibal lecture, she says that he might be right.

        • Mirai

She says that Adachi makes a good point, but it doesn’t excuse him for what he did.

          • malek86

Well there’s my problem. I don’t think Adachi made a good point.

Besides, she’s party member, she’s supposed to agree with me all the time. That’s pretty much what she did the whole game.

          • That was probably the point; she’s supposed to agree with you all the time based on your own experience/playthrough.

It’s in that moment however when you realize she answers differently than what you expected that you realize she’s her own person. Pretty much what she’s wanted to be throughout her entire life.

        • Abysswalker90

          He is right.

  • Hound

    Fuuka all the way!

    • I love both, but Fuuka has a special place in my heart because I can relate to her a little. I’m excited to have her back.

    • Firion Hope

I have a soft spot for the shy ones <3

  • DragKudo

  • Xerain

But can I have a Koromaru-san harem party?

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Fuuka and her bad cooking could help us if we are stuck in a boss battlle it should GIVE MASSIVE DAMAGE , oh man just think if chie and yukiko cooked with her….

        Mystery Food Q

        • natchu96

Like Mystery Food X, but more lethal?

666 casts of Mudoon went into making this new curry, guys.

    • Firion Hope

To be fair by the end of the game she learns to cook well, at least if you help her out

      The P4 girls however….

  • Kaetsu

    I’m a hardcore Risette fan!

    • ShadowDivz

Isn’t there a trophy with that na–

  • Skeptika Crediblus

GET IN MY 3DS! (now that I finally own one…)

  • Warren

Did anyone see that groovy case Japan is getting. Their promoting you to be high when you play this game, I hope to meet their expectations. As well as bringing it to the US for pre-ordering.

    • SnackEater

Yeah I want this really badly!

    • Abysswalker90

Seeing the SEGA logo on an Atlus made game for the first time, feels strange. I’m always reminded of Sega Genesis when I see it.

      • Wasn’t this the first and last time to see the SEGA logo with an Atlus game tho? Or did i read that article wrong about Atlus being independent again @[email protected]

    • PersonaSpace

Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered it off of AmiAmi!

  • Kornelious

    To…much…chibi….I CANT TAKE IT! lol

    • natchu96

Chibi normally have bigger heads, this is more towards the Super-Deformed end of the spectrum.

But otherwise I guess it looks okay from the non-serious perspective.

      • ManSizeSextet

Chibi is super deformed. This somewhere between that and the slightly deformed character models in P3/4.

      • Kaetsu

It kind of looks like Bravely Default characters.

  • mynameisdats

Theyre really pushing this spinoff no?

    • Kaetsu

Why not? It’s pretty exciting for fans of Persona 3&4.

    • OlimacFTW

Persona as a franchise is a spin-off so, Why not?

      • Strain42

To get super accurate it’s a spin-off of a spin-off of a gaiden of a spin-off of an adaptation of a novel…oh what a long and tangled thread the MegaTen series consists of :P

  • Scissors

I love how they’re shading everyone’s hair in this game.

  • FlobotingIt

I wonder if there will be some barebones style of Social Links… I don’t know why I thought of it just now. But regardless, Rise all the way. I never liked Fuuka. She’s too… Weak. She never seems to grow, but just kind of acts as a little sister. Come on, girl! You gotta help the SEES team take down Strega! Not cower in fear! Even after she has her little moment where she gets her ultimate persona, she’s still a bit apprehensive.

  • Mr_SP

Wait… The names of Yu and Makoto are given as… P4 Main and P3 Main? Uh huh.

    • Morningstar

Not that surprising. If a game with a naming mechanic has a spinoff into a genre has a naming mechanic, then the mechanic would likely be retained and the name “Makoto” still retains secondary canon status (Then again I’m sure the longer lasting “Minato” was also in that status).

Arena being a spinoff in the Fighting game genre, which has no such mechanic would canonize Yu Narukami is the P4PC’s name, However as Minato/Makoto has not appeared with a canon name thus far in the games and the Anime and movies are adaptations, meaning that they aren’t necessarily canon. I see it as Schrodinger’s Cat,

      • Mr_SP

Reasonable. But I haven’t heard that P3MC and P4MC are getting player-determined names, yet, especially when you spend a whole prologue with one before meeting the other. Given that, I’d assume they’d get the names from the official spin-offs (the manga aren’t exactly official, the series, game, and box office release, substantially more so, given the inclusion of the original voice actors). So, I’m left wondering if this is their only names in the game.

  • I read the title as: “Shadow of the Labyrinth shows Rise and Fuuka making out”

    I should sleep ._.

    • ShadowDivz

Or draw doujins…. Up to you.

  • ecoutercavalier

Whoa, Fuuka is actually cute now.

    • Kaetsu

She was in P4A but you barely got to see her.

      • 하세요

She is my one and only announcer.

  • Rohan Viajar

    fuuka <3

  • Eder García

    Team Fuuka Assemble!!!

  • ShadowDivz

I read that as “Shadow Rise and Fuuka helping out”.

  • Vash bane

hm the fuuka vid takes forever to load (still hasn’t loaded yet) i’m still not to interested in this title then again i’m not into persona like I used to be ( I tried on my first play though of p3 to max all links….so many conflicts and restarts XD) but i’ll keep my eyes on this hopefully it can get me back into the series.

  • I like how they went with the yellow color for the “battle results” screen.

Nice to see what the popular choice in-house was >:P

  • Ricardo C

Not even my love for Rise could convince me to get this game but that music game is nice though ;)

  • KoRLumen

I’m just… absolutely in love with this art direction <3

  • am i the only one who noticed the penis?
