By Eugene . March 9, 2014 . 2:00pm

Touch Detective 3: Does Nameko Dream Of Bananas? is the next in the puzzle series featuring a mushroom called Funghi and main character detective Mackenzie as she works to solve the mystery of missing bananas. In the trailer, we get to see what the perpetrator probably looks like. And it… erm… yeah.

There’s also a note that the game will arrive on May 1st on the Nintendo 3DS. You’ll also have to tangle with Shiro, who fancies herself a solid detective and has her own cute little companion in Kinako the dog-thing, as the mystery progresses. It looks like gameplay will remain largely similar, with the touch screen used to move Mackenzie around and chat with folks, or search for clues and hint coins.

Touch Detective 3: Does Nameko Dream Of Bananas? will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS May 1st in Japan.

Someone could be nice and eshop this game later this year. Just saying.

  • Serge

I know is weird, but i really like the art style of these games.

    • M’iau M’iaut

Long as it is a bunch of girls on spooky detective adventures it certainly adds too the mood. Having a traditional VN with these girls would be most scary for the MC.

      • neocatzon

Nah, If the MC is also role friendly these girls antics will not pose much a problem for him. The reader though I think will have harder time relate themselves with him..

I’d be 100% fine with this game being eShop-only and in English in the West, even though the first two were translated in my language.

And do I see Inspector Daria and Connor/The Cornstalker? Aw yiss. X3

  • Strain42

Atlus please please PLEASE localize this…I loved the first two. Seriously, aside from Pokemon, MegaTen, and Ace Attorney, the Touch Detective games are some of the only DS games I decided to keep when I cleaned out my shelves.

*checks the bottom of the article* “Touch Detective Rising 3″?

    • D-Omen

      MacKenzie’s Revengeance.

  • Hours Left

I really hope we get this in North America. I love this series.

I hope the last entries did well on DS to justify a western release. Actually if localisation doesn’t happen on 3DS. I’m hoping they take their chances on iOS at least since previous games are available on itunes

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

I really loved the first two games. Absolutely adorable, in a creepy way.

    Love the art.

  • Göran Isacson

Bananaman turned evil? Say it isn’t so! Also, am I the only one who sees a butt in the orange-haired girl? ‘Cause I don’t know if I am. At any rate: that really looks like a fun game, especially dig the Cyborg Two-Face agents there with the Toku-posing lady detective. Are any of these available in English, or is this one for Japanese audiences only?

    • D-Omen

The first two are available in English and various EU languages on the DS, I were able to find them (here in Europe) late last year new at Game Stop for €12 total.

      • Göran Isacson

Sweet, might have to check up on auction sites and such to see if I can’t find some nice deals on the games then.
