Sega are developing the next Crazy Taxi game on mobile phones, the publisher has announced. Crazy Taxi: City Rush is a new game being developed by the creator of the original, Kenji Kanno, in collaboration with Hardlight Studios.

Sega say Crazy Taxi: City Rush will have “one-touch, intuitive controls” and will take place in a large city sitting. You’ll need to swipe the screen to change lanes, turn corners and launch yourself off ramps. The game will be free-to-play.

“I’m very excited to finally be able to share with you the first news of Crazy Taxi: City Rush,” said Kenji Kanno. “We are delivering a truly fun game that captures everything our fans love about the original and infusing it with several new features to create an even more fantastic and memorable experience.”

Crazy Taxi: City Rush is in development for iOS and Android devices, and is planned for release later this year.
