5pb are currently working on a sequel to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, called Corpse Party: Blood Drive, where Ayumi Shinozaki will again find herself involved in dark events—this time, in 3D super-deformed style. Famitsu shares more on the game’s story and new characters.
Corpse Party: Blood Drive takes place two months after the tragedy from the events of Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, where Ayumi finds herself severely ill from the effects of black magic. Ayumi was saved by Naomi Nakashima, who was able to get her into a passing car, and to the hospital, in order to save her life.
While hospitalized, a certain girl visits Ayumi, who claims to be a spiritual associate of her sister, Hinoe. She then tells Ayumi to retrieve the dark tome, the “Book of Shadows,” as a message passed on from Hinoe.
After being dismissed from the hospital, a mysterious young man tells her that she can use the Book of Shadows to bring her dead friends back to life. Upon hearing this, in order to bring her friends back to life, Ayumi heads to the housing complex her blood relative Makina Shinozaki once lived…
The new characters in the game will also be illustrated by Makoto Kedouin as seen in the above image. Other characters who appeared in past Corpse Party games will also be appearing in a similar way.
Here’s a look at some of the key characters of Corpse Party: Blood Drive.
Ayumi Shinozaki, Naomi, Nakashima, and Magari Mizuki
Kuon Niwa is the assistant teacher of Ayumi’s class. She speaks with a calm tone and cares for her students, but there seems to be something mysterious about her.
Misuto Kiriya is the mysterious young man who suddenly appears in front of Ayumi and tells her that she can bring her friends back to life if she retrieves the Book of Shadows.
Corpse Party: Blood Drive will be released for PlayStation Vita on July 24, 2014.
