Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming English Screenshots Revealed

By Ishaan . March 28, 2014 . 6:00am

Half Minute Hero 2 is being localized for PC via Steam, Marvelous AQL have confirmed to Siliconera. The game will be titled Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming, and we’re told is slated for release “very soon”.

Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming will have full integration with Steamworks. Players will be able to use the in-game map maker and share maps with other players across the world. You’ll also be able to vote on maps created by other players.

Additionally, the game will have 4-player multiplayer with lobbies, as well as an improved Goddess Room mode that has been improved over the original PSP game. Finally, the game will retain all modes from the original PSP release, and Marvelous say there are a few other additions in the PC release, too.

Marvelous AQL producer Esteban Salazar confirmed to Siliconera that the game is only being released for PC, with no PSP or Vita version coming “any time in the foreseeable future”. At launch, Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming will have English and Japanese text, with more languages to follow if the game sells well enough.

Regarding price, Salazar stated that price details would be revealed soon, but noted that the planned price-point will be “very reasonable”.

    Overture, Judgement, Revolution, Ragnarok, Destiny!

Kind of makes me wish they release Senran Kagura games on PC as well.

Besides Falcom games, MMOs and visual novels, (with the rare PC port of an existing RPG, and even that usually never reachs Japan)…
pc in japan has infamously lots of eroge coming for it.

I wouldn’t see them make the risk of getting the IP associated with eroge any time soon. (hint: it isn’t, it aims at a wide audience)

I mean, Nintendo and Sony actually ban any and every single eroge publisher (even the ones who published a single one), with the exceptions being Enix (since they dropped it before the famicom and had their runaway success Portopia and Dragon Quest 1) and Nintendo letting a publisher making a mahjong game for the GBC.. and maybe those extremely popular visual novels cleaned up for Sony (and rarely Nintendo) platforms.

    • I think Valve might have something to say about that. Especially Shinovi Vs.

Unlikely, considering that both Witchers and DNF are on there and stuff like BoneTown and HuniePop got Greenlit recently.

        • Except… The Witcher and DNF kind of aren’t really anything like SK.

Point is that a digital PC release can get away with more than a retail or digital console release, especially now that Valve isn’t really interested in curating the store anymore.

Well, they do have an uncensored Vanguard Princess on their service.

Might be some more issues with that. If you notice, all their Steam games until now have been PSP conversions. Maybe they have some tools that let them do it easily, but not for PSV or 3DS.

  • It’s about time.

Hope they improve the multiplayer on this one. It was lots of fun when I played, but I never figured out how to find people to play

    • JediScar

It looks like there will be lobbies this time, from the multiplayer video that was posted the other day.

  • NicheGamer

I’m really glad, that they were able to keep the Goddess room in there. It looks like they’re putting a stronger effort at the port this time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the music player will also still be in the game.

  • Carlos Escalante

Aw, wanted it for Vita, but this will do!

  • Cyrus

    Day One.

  • Brimfyre

Looks like I’ll have to finally get a Steam account.

  • Ty Arnold

So excited. The first Half-Minute Hero is a game that everyone needs to play.

This will probably mark the first time I pay full price for a game on Steam.

  • Craig Mikucki

I guess I’ll just wait until it comes out for something else. I can wait another two or three years. Totes worth it.

  • DuskSharkEX

    I’m ready to buy this.
