The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening Shows Off Some Roguelike Action

The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening will have you making all kinds of tough choices in the story, but when you’re out exploring dungeons, the only thing you’ll have to think about is to live or die, to kill or be killed.


Similar to other dungeon RPGs or roguelikes, you’ll be exploring dungeons where you’ll encounter the fight between angels and demons. There will be plenty of enemies, but the goal will be to clear your mission.


The protagonist Shin Kamikaze will be able to attack, use special skills and items. As you level up, you’ll have access to even stronger actions that can be used against foes.


The “AC meter” located on the top-right will chip away at your health upon depletion, so it’ll be important to keep it up using items and equipment.


At the start and end of each chapter, there will be event scenes that depict how Shin has grown according to the choices you’ve made, and the latest update on the war between angels and demons will also be shared.


The angels you find in the dungeons will occasionally support you, or they might help you out in other ways against the demons. There will also be certain events that occur in the middle of your dungeon runs.


There will be plenty of equipment and items on the dungeon floors, so in addition to fighting enemies, picking up items is another thing you’ll be spending a lot of dungeon time on. You might run into tough enemies or fall into traps, but you’ll be able to keep the acquired items and equipment.


While exploring dungeons, you’ll be getting help from the two heroines of Jupiel Soraumi and Arle Agarie. Since the protagonist is still new to being a god, he’ll need all the extra help he can get!


One unique feature of The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening is the “God Mode” feature. While using this system, the protagonist will gain incredible powers for a short period of time. More details on how it works will be revealed in future updates.


The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening will be released on July 24, 2014 for PlayStation 3.

    im a little worried about the still images for cutscencs, they have all been the same thing for the past couple of screenshots i hope they differ

    I don’t usually nitpick about graphics but the aesthetics in the gameplay don’t really do the artwork justice. I’d be perfectly fine with NIS making it in HD sprites like the (spiritual?) former.

    This looks more like Sorcery Saga than The Guided Fate Paradox. And I know that the story will be more mature, but i hope it will keep the charm that the original had, it’s looking good so far though :)

    yuck. the switch to 3D chibi models was a poor decision, the I original looked much better.

        It reminds me of Chocobo Dungeon for the Wii. I like the 3D models. I always wondered what a Disgaea type game would look with 3D model characters instead of their HD sprites they usually have.

      I agree. It’s not bad, I think it works for The Dead Patient look, but when compered to first game this type just looks too different.

    I’m really liking the environments. They’re infinitely more interesting to look at than the empty voids in the other games.

    Still hoping they improve the textures on the characters models though.
