Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call’s Tunes From FFI – FFVII

By Spencer . April 1, 2014 . 2:22am

Preparing for their Theatrhythm encore, Square Enix released a lengthy video showcasing some of the songs from Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call. The video below has all of the songs in Curtain Call from the first Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VII.

Theatrhythm has a lot of nostalgic touches like having the Falcon fly in the background in a Final Fantasy VI song and summoning Knights of the Round in the Final Fantasy VII stages (it doesn’t take 5 minutes either!) Seeing Edgar run waving a chainsaw is just hilarious too. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call comes out on April 24 in Japan.

I’m running out of comments to say about these posts, but my hype is still active!

    uh….turkey leg!

    • As it is with me.

      Etooo……… Creme brûlée!
      Umm… Lollipops?

Even though the list was there all along, it only hit me now that “Pandemonium” isn’t included in FFII’s list… It’s one of the better tracks in that game and II has less tracks than other mainline FF titles in this game, it’s really odd that it’s not there.

I realize there’s always going to be at least one track that someone is going to wish was there when it isn’t (*ahem* Liberi Fatali *ahem*), especially with a series as big as this and very memorable music throughout, but it’s not like II has a lot of tracks to choose from and I always assumed “Pandemonium” was one of the better liked ones if it was picked to be remastered in Dissidia 012.

But there are so many other wonderful tracks in such an abundance, I’m really hyped! C’mon Square-Enix, you won us over yesterday with “We’re going to focus heavily on JRPGs”, show us fans that you like us and announce this!
    …And Type-0 HD while you’re at it :P

They’re apparently including some music from the Dissidia series in this one, so I’m hoping that they’ll include some of the remastered tracks like Pandaemonium and Chaos Shrine…

Oh god I hope they also include “God in Fire”, that song is dope!

THANK YOU! I noticed that too. One of my favorite final dungeons, and I honestly dont see why its not in there. I mean it is is Dissidia.

      • SMT

Exactly! Heck, the track (and mainly the dungeon itself) even got a homage in FFIX! It just seems like one of the more obvious choices!
I guess I’ll hope for the dissidia version, that version might not be as “unsettling” (in a good way) as the original, but it does convey the epicness of that long trek through literal hell, much like the majesticness of the PS1/anniversary version.

I’ll always have a soft spot for FFII, even if it probably is objectively the weakest game in the series because a great idea had a bad execution and ended broken…
I guess the reason for that soft spot is probably because it was released on the day I was born :P

I actually think FFII was a very strong game, just underrated (like a few other ones). I loved the leveling up system, the games atmosphere, the world and areas, some great characters, and I loved the music. Now I haven’t played the original just the remake so maybe thats why haha. But Its really REALLY good.

Hope it comes over soon, looks really good especially with those FF14 songs.

Interesting, never played the first one so I’ll have to keep an eye on this.
