Post-Apocalyptic Meets Ace Attorney And Zero Escape Style Games In Exogenesis

The folks at Quickfire Games aren’t only interested in making you a very dark and mature harvesting sim in Wild Season. They’ve also partnered up with Agos Studio to help work on another post-apocalyptic game called Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~.

The post-apocalyptic adventure/visual novel game is looking to combine the sort of heavy character interaction we see in games such as Ace Attorney with the you-can’t-win of Zero Escape-style games.

The point-and-click title is intending to span about six chapters with puzzles to solve and clues to unravel in an about-10 hour game. Players will be Yudai Sayashi in post-apocalyptic Japan. Humanity’s gone to hell, but Yudai and his band of treasure hunters/looters survive by picking up and out items to help them survive. Until a trap triggers two years back in 2069 and fatally ends Yudai’s sister Miho’s life.

Two years later, and Yudai discovers that the mythical Noah’s Ark is a real place that was created in the days before the end times—and in it the Lazarus Protocol that could possibly bring his beloved dead sister back to life. As part of the plan though, he’s got to get his treasure hunting group the Durchhalten back together—even if he’s going to have to coax, cajole or gather evidence against them.

The devs are promising that the puzzles surrounding the game aren’t going to be nonsensical (And this, really, can only be a good thing) with multiple endings.

Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, they know how to throw a bunch of keyword to attract my attention.

…add “infinity series” in the middle and this game is goty!

      • AlexIDV

Zero Escape basically is Infinity to begin with, but with “escape the room” segments added.

        • Lumi

Infinity series with escape room segments added and pseudo date sim vn elements removed. But oh well, its the creator’s own story to copy

      They had me at Post-Apocalyptic.

I clicked in, hoping to hear something about maybe possibly one day having an English version of the game… and then the screenshots are all already in English. Fantastic. I’m theirs to lose right now.

As a fan of both series you had my interest…
But now you have my money.

The concept alone plus the post-apocalyptic Japan setting got me intrigued, this could end up being really good.

I…… would like to play this.

Yudai Sayashi and Miho. The devs might be fans of Sayashi Riho from Morning Musume.

  • For some reason the puzzles part reminds me of Sweet Fuse, I really don’t know why that was what came to mind lol. At any rate I will support! (I am starting to feel rather sorry for my wallet)

  • Dianatos

Wow, this game is pretty unknown, but I’m interested. Is there a release date yet?

  • Ladius

It’s really nice to see another interesting oelvn, the art is actually done by a Japanese (Kuromai, from the team’s site) and it’s among the best I’ve seen in a western developed visual novel, aside from Dischan’s old character designer Doomfest.

  • Hexodious

I thought of yesterday night, “They need to make a sequel of Zero Escape, or anything similar..”

    And then this shows up.

  • Daniel Banks

Wait, what system is this on?
