Update: Capcom have confirmed to Siliconera that Decapre will not be available in arcades at launch.

decaBefore Ultra Street Fighter IV comes home, Capcom will bring the next version of Street Fighter IV to Japanese arcades. Yoshinori Ono announced the arcade version is scheduled to come out on April 17, Dengeki reports.

Ultra Street Fighter IV adds five characters—Elena, Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and Decapre, who is playable for the first time in the Street Fighter series.

However, Decapre will not be playable in the arcade version of the game on launch day, according to EventHubs, who say that she will be added to the game via an update patch at a later date.

Ultra Street Fighter IV is slated for release this June for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Despite its age and the slew of new fighting games that have come out since it’s release, SF4 is still pretty much the main event at every major FGC tournament. Love it or hate it, I’m pretty sure it’s here to stay. Plus, most die hard fighting game fans know and accept that a 7-10 year stretch of balance updates is pretty much the norm for a Capcom fighter.

I’m excited to see what tech they find out before she’s officially released on console.

Yea me too! many people are going to be focusing on her so there is bound to be some crazy setups that people will find out with her. Also i am interested in seeing how she as a character will change. Change as in seeing how people use her day one and how people will use her after she has been out for a couple of months on console. There are going to be major changes in her meta from arcade release to console release

I actually am really excited to play this once it is out on consoles! They finally have fixed Guile’s hitbox issues and gave him some much needed buffs!

You know I’m not upset over her as I was with Oni, and Evil Ryu. Those two truly were palette swaps nonetheless awesome. The difference with her being that she already exists as a fleshed out character so she isn’t some cheapshot. While not a cheapshot, it really seems so out of place to put her into this game.

Actually, Decapre isn’t in the arcade version. She’s still being worked on.

    • Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
