Shallistera And Shallotte Show Us The World Of Atelier Shallie

By Spencer . April 10, 2014 . 11:55pm

Gust host an Atelier preview hosted by Rie-chan on NicoNico earlier. The broadcast had a bit of gameplay footage of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea – 38 minutes through.

This shorter video skips straight to the part where Shallistera and Shallotte, the two heroines in Atelier Shallie, explore the game’s world.  Enemies seem to lose track of them pretty quickly, the yellow stingray-like monster went from alert to ??? status as soon as Shallie turned. Check out this post for more details about the lead characters in Gust’s next Atelier game.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is set for release on PlayStation 3 on June 26.

That nico nico video was hard to watch she’s cute but she was so energetic

  • Kornelious

The world looks quite nice and colorful, I just hope you can change the camera zoom intensity, it looks a little far away when out in the field. NP either way though :)

    • Escha & Logy had camera zoom a bit and it was just right ^ ^

More than likely it’ll be back in this one.

  • I like how vibrant the environments look. Very nice.

  • Raw

Nice, it looks awesome. I just hope they have improved the engine cause it always lags while inside detailed harvest zones.

    No timer limit?

    • Slayven19

There’s always a time limit, game wouldn’t really function right without one.

  • Slayven19

Love the world, also those 2 lovebirds in the green uniforms that worked for the branch are back.

  • Liamv2

The levels seem to have a lot more verticality than Ayesha and Escha&Logy.

  • dark-kyon

    i am in team shallotte.

  • That is a much prettier color palette than the previous, very brown, games in the Atelier series. I like it!

I wish Tecmo Koei would promote games like this in the West. Well, not EXACTLY like this, as the actual presentation was far too long, annoying, and padded. But the LEAST they could do is have a quickie Youtube show recapping these kinds of things. Like a Nintendo Minute-type production, y’know? Or like Play-Asia’s “Play Select” show, or MMOBomb’s “Free to Play Weekly”; etc. – they’re all a good frame of reference. Just a 5-min (give or take) Youtube show with a host-or-narrator recapping the details from the Niconico Stream and showing off the game footage. Cut out all the filler, get to the point, and start building up at least some hype for a future release of theirs.

They completely suck at marketing every game they put out here in the West – it’s a miracle the DOA & Ninja Gaiden games sell so well (though, I guess, they have Microsoft to thank for pushing those series so hard on the first two Xbox consoles)
