PlayStation 4 Getting Japanese Arcade Classics Like Crazy Climber And Rygar

By Spencer . April 16, 2014 . 12:26am

HyperCrazyClimber_004Hamster Corporation, the company behind the Ninja Jajamaru-kun game for 3DS, will bring Japanese arcade games to PlayStation 4 this spring. Crazy Climber, Ninja-kun: Adventures in the Demon Castle, and Rygar are the first games lined up for re-release. All three will be available in Japan this spring.

Speaking of Crazy Climber, MonkeyPaw Games put Hyper Crazy Climber (pictured) up as a PsOne import that’s compatible with PSP, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

putting all that processing power to good use right?

    • darke

Well if it was ported to the XB1 at least it’d run at 1080p/60hz on it. Hopefully. >.>

They are just emulating it right, so why would it run any faster or with better graphics then it did to begin with ? Its not like putting low graphic games on ps4 or ps3 would make them any better. Shouldn’t the XB1 perform as well on these games as my computer would if I had the game and an emulator? Am I missing something?

Yeah, you’re missing the sarcasm. :)

There’s been a repeated problem on multiplat releases between PS4/XB1 where the PS4 version runs at native 1080p, but the XB1 runs at 720p/800p/900p. The issue being that with the amount of eSRAM in the XB1, you can’t do deferred rendering at 1080p on it since it requires more then available.

It’s not a particular problem in the future, since I imagine later in the console generation they’ll sacrifice resolution for effects on both consoles; but at the moment it’s a bit of a facepalm moment whenever games are released running native 1080p on PS4, and upscaled on the XB1.

That means moar PS4 games…right!?So far, I’ve found more interesting games on Vita than on PS4.

Looking at games list on PS4, it seems, that Sony relaxed after PS4 release… But remember, Sony, remember the PS3 and Vita’s life. Yeah, they rised from dead, but it was after Sony’s b*tt was on fire. Hell, Vita picked up the pace after some defeat by 3DS.

So it needs PS4 processing power for re-releasing Rygar.
I did not know NES was a powerful machine back then. :P

They’re releasing the arcade version, which is actually different from the NES free-roaming version. It’s a lot harder and is strictly a side-scrolling action game.

But hey, I don’t mind retro games on PS4… as long as it’s on the cheap. People should get the opportunity to play Crazy Climber and Rygar… great games.
