Tales of the World: Reve Unitia Shows More Tales Characters In Action

In Bandai Namco’s upcoming tactics game, Tales of the World: Reve Unitia, you’ll have various characters from the series, such as Lloyd Irving and Yuri Lowell, fighting for a common cause in a dream world called Revalia. Here’s a look at further character and story details.

While it’s uncertain as to how it was created, the world of Revalia is a place full of numerous dreams of those who live around the world. This world continues exists as long as people keep dreaming, and if that were to stop, Revalia would be no more.

Within this world, are the Lufres tribe, who keeps balance in the world by fighting against the “Vule,” an incarnation of the people’s darkness found in their hearts. However, lately, there’s been an unprecedented occurrence, where the Vule have been taking form of monsters, and only those known as the Dream Keepers can take them out… but these Dream Keepers mysteriously vanished one day.

In order to continue fighting against the Vule, the Lufres decided to summon people from the “Awake World,” who are capable of fighting the Vule.

That’s how the characters from the Tales of universe showed up in this dream world, but they seem not to have any memories from their respective worlds, and it’ll be up to them to put an end to the rampaging Vule.

As previously reported, the story in Tales of the World: Reve Unitia will be split into two perspectives, one of a Lufres tribe member named Teru, and another of a Dream Keeper named Nahato.

In Terun’s story, the Lufres attempted to summon those from the Awake World, but the ritual failed, and scattered them across the lands of Revalia. While Terun feared the Vule, he was courageous enough to go out of town to look for the scattered heroes.

005 006

Just when Terun was being attacked by the Vule, Asbel and Lloyd found him in the nick of time. Their journey begins as the two tag alongside Terun to find the other heroes.

007 008

Nahato meets Yuri and Jade, who were also summoned the same way Lloyd and Asbel were. Similar to Terun’s group, Nahato and the others will be fighting for the sake of saving Revalia, but their story will also be taking a different turn.

Finally, here’s a look at some of the Tales of series characters who’ll be in the game:

Asbel (Tales of Graces):

Oh god! let this game come here namco!

    • CirnoLakes

They’re localizing Tales of Hearts R, so there’s reason to hope!

  • 하세요

This looks really nice. Love a good tactics game. JP or NA release date would work for me.

  • AuraGuyChris

It has Yuri and Jade in it.

    That’s, like, a godly combination.

    • Son of a Smooosh

      You bet!

    • wererat42

With all the naive idealistic heroes in Tales, you can never have too many cool guys.

    • LustEnvy

Lol, I distinctly remember saying this elsewhere

  • Ladius

You know the drill, Namco: localize it and I will buy it day one. Jokes aside, after Hearts R’s announcement (and Abyss 3DS’s good sales in the US) I think there’s a chance of it actually happening despite this game being an handheld spinoff.

I’m a bit disappointed this isn’t a tacticalLMBS hybrid like Tales of the World Narikiri Dungeon 3, since that would allow the battle system to have tactical depth while still has the traditional battle system fans expect from this series, but the game looks fun nonetheless and I love tactical jrpgs, so it’s not a deal breaker.

Plus, as AuraGuyChris mentioned, the Jade and Yuri scenario looks awesome already.

  • HerosLight

Hopefully they expand on it and add more characters to both sides of the story.

It looks like it’ll be a short game.

    • Ladius

Going with previous crossover games, chances are this game will involve far more returning characters than the six mentioned in this article.

    • DyLaN

Here the available characters frm the mobile game Reve Unitia is based on (provided Bamco didn’t shaft any of the characters).

      • HerosLight

I’d say that is a fair amount then, thanks. I’ll assume they will add the DLC as well.

      • Spirit Macardi

Karol needs to be in this. With all the other overt references to another Namco series, all this needs is a character played by Kumiko Watanabe to drive it over the edge x3

Also, Guy, Emil, and Cress? Good lord, if this gets localized we’re going to have Bosch to the third power XD

  • RajaNaga

    Dem shota shorts……………

    • CirnoLakes

I like shorts! They’re comfy and easy to wear!

  • Spirit Macardi

“the world of Revalia is a place full of numerous dreams of those who live around the world.”

    So… It’s basically Phantomile.

Seriously Baba, just propose to Yoshizawa already! The man could use some love after all x3

  • CozyAndWarm

    Localize when

  • You know I wonder if under the right circumstances, this could be a pretty big hit considering Fire Emblem Awakening, sell it to the Tales fans and FEA fans, it’s clear people liked FEA and might be hungry for another SRPG.

Hell Nintendo pulling a Symphonia in the west by localizing it and marketing it just like that could be a winner for both BN and Nintendo.

  • Vash bane

had to erase my old comment because it loos like a strategy game. I mean those blocks I see looks very similar to another game I know of (name escapes me atm) if that’s the case then this one is off my radar lol

  • Prinnydoom

As much as I love tales of series this…….this is just a mobile game brought over to 3DS, and its not all that impressive either. Tales doesn’t work as a SRPG. I mean fair enough to those people excited about it but I think I’ll stick with Hearts r.

    • 하세요

I think any game can work as an SRPG, and this looks pretty great. Now if they stick with only the mobile content, then I may be a sad panda if they try and charge us full price of a 3DS game.

  • DyLaN

Is that a Teepo stuffed toy in Terun pocket? Shout out to Xillia?

And for some reason Terun/Nahato and the premise reminds me of the Pretty Cure series.

  • What are these, some kind of new cheagles

    • DyLaN

Its a mascot character, silly Tear(s) XP

    • Spirit Macardi

No, but they were clearly inspired by the same series that the Cheagles were based off.

  • Kornelious

Still wondering why they decided to group Lloyd and Asbel…and then Yuri and jade. i guess because the characters have similair personalities, But that’s BORING! Jk lol
What I do know is that it being on the 3DS increases the chance of a localization……hopefully…..

  • PoweredByHentai

I’m not sure how I feel about having a Tales Of Tactics game. I mean, I’ve played enough SRPGs that this won’t be new to me, but it is going to feel kind of weird not having that real-time combat for me to unleash my majinken combos.

  • klkAlexar

I thought Teru was a girl at first glance. Oh well, I do love girly shotas.

  • IshimaruKaito

i need this in my life!!!

  • Patrick McAleer

I thought this game was being released for IOS.

    I’m really glad I was wrong :)

    • DyLaN

Its not officially stated, but this seems to based on the Tactics Union mobile game.

  • Meredy! ;u;
    And Natalia~! I’m sold. #vuv#

Also, they have some very easy, quick ways to sell this to little girls if they wanted.

  • Galen Nycroft

It looks so smooth, how did they get those textures on the 3DS?!

    • Spirit Macardi

The 3DS can handle a lot more than most people (and even developers) give it credit for.

I mean, I’m playing Conception 2 currently and I can’t see any difference between the 3DS and Vita visuals.

  • Yan Zhao

The flying mascot thing transforms into a magical loli girl. Totally not surprised.

    • DyLaN

I hate to break it to you, but Terun is a boy aka shota.

      • Yan Zhao

        *Pretends I didnt read*

      • Scourge626

  • Lolzandstuff

I didn’t knew that Jirachi had a twin named Teru,

  • Scourge626

    Teru’s a boy? Trap.
