Demon Gaze Is Getting An “International” Re-release In Japan

By Spencer . April 23, 2014 . 2:13am

When NIS America released Demon Gaze in the West it had guest characters from Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness. Kadokawa Games is taking a page from Square Enix and plan on re-releasing the Demon Gaze with the English voiceovers, text, and cameos as Demon Gaze: Global Edition.

Aside from being in English and putting Prinny into the game, Demon Gaze: Global Edition doesn’t have any other changes. Demon Gaze: Global Edition is slated for release on July 3 in Japan. Check out our impressions of Demon Gaze here.

This is very interesting to here not to mention the fat the game has a feature to take save data from another game.

This game has no such feature, it’s just DLC. Nothing more.

      • Taedirk

Untrue. On the Vita livescreen for Demon Gaze, there’s the same option to import data that’s used for bringing demo data into a full release version. My guess is that’s there as part of the backport to Japan for those who already owned the original.

I’m not talking about demo data. He’s talking about taking data from a different entirely (Disgaea D2), when it has been mentioned earlier that NIS characters will be DLC additions for Demon Gaze.

      What do you mean?

  • GibbRS

How do you unlock the NIS character images in Demon Gaze? I didn’t see anything in the PSN store.

    • XiaomuArisu

US store should have it. EU gets it next week I think

  • GH56734

Namco did the same with Tales of the Abyss 3DS, since it was based on the US PS2 version Japanese never got.
But the part “being in English” is what bugs me: selling a game in English-only in Japan is beyond stupid: did they at least bother and translate its bonuses back to Japanese/put dual-audio?

    • gilleh

I doubt that it’s gonna be completely English-only, since that version also gives you the option to change the text to Japanese, too.

      • Bacon_n_Lettuce

Wait, the NISA version released in the US has a Japanese text option?

    • ishyg

So the Japanese version have English language? Honto?
I mean whole game, not just audio tracks.

  • Daverost

If Japan’s getting Disgaea characters, I want IA. Actually, I wanted IA anyway, but now I want it more.

  • ishyg

Ah good, at least I don’t have to import anymore.
