The Mysteries Of The World Are Caused By MINDs In Mind Zero

By Spencer . April 23, 2014 . 11:42pm

Mind Zero, a dungeon crawler made by Class of Heroes developer ZeroDiv, imagines that strange events in the world are caused by MINDs. Japan has a lot of classic mysteries, like people being ‘spirited away,’ or getting possessed by foxes. But, what if all these things were caused by MINDs," muses Takayuki Harakami ZeroDiv CEO.

MIND stands for "Major Inner Node Displacement." These entities come from the Inner Realm and are naturally aggressive. Each one has a counterpart with the Outer Realm and in the game high school students like the protagonist, Kei Takanashi, form contracts with the MINDs.

Mind Zero is slated for release on May 27 in North America and May 28 in Europe as a digital download.

beautiful everything, but for my tastes the implementation in “first person dungeon crawler” form feels like a waste… Such artowrk and atmosphere could have deserved something more…

    • Ladius

This game is kinda different than regular dungeon crawlers, since you will actually be able to see your characters’ models during battle.

  • Firion Hope

I’ve heard negative things but I’m still kinda excited for this

Also man that music at the beginning sounds like some Silent Hill stuff, awesome!

    • MrTyrant

What were the negative things you hear about the game?

      • DyLaN

The most often heard complains is abt the graphics/models.

        • MrTyrant

Thats silly. I expected something about story, gameplay or lot of bugs.

          • DyLaN

There also some gameplay and ending complains but graphics complains is more common.

  • DyLaN

I guess “Major Inner Node Displacement” is an improvement over “Mental Inside Nobody Doll”?

Oh, I had a hunch that the legends are based on MINDs going by my limited japanese knowledge frm watching the gameplay vids. And I think the “axe guy” is actually just this particular mook.

  • Herok♞

Does anyone know if this will be Japanese Audio only?

    • DyLaN

Its been stated that it will have dual audio.

      • Herok♞

        Ok good purchase guaranteed then.

        • Hexodious

          • Herok♞

I have been on the fence about this game since the info about it was first released. I have the preference of playing games in English, however it isn’t a deal breaker. If it was Japanese audio only, I would have to consider it more strongly against my other expenses after all it comes out 3 days before Mario Kart 8 and I don’t have a ton of money.

          • Hexodious

Sorry, I was just a bit rattled, normally I come across people who only buy “anime-like” games if it has Japanese audio. It’s rare to find people like you who like to hear English voices instead. Maybe i’m a bit exaggerating, I don’t know. It’s just good to know that there are still people who give English audio some praise.

          • Herok♞

I prefer having English voices because it allows me to multitask, I sometimes just let dialogue play without me paying attention to the screen. If the dialogue is in Japanese I can’t do that since I don’t know the language. Thats in the case of games, in the case of anime where I am paying attention the whole time anyway, I am fine with any language. Like in the case of Dragon Ball Z, I much prefer the English dub since its what I grew up with but I am watching Kai in Japanese because I rather watch it now then wait.

  • Rentekabond

So, considering this comes out in about a month and this trailer doesn’t have any english voicing, is it safe to assume that this won’t have any in the Final Version?

Welp, there goes what little chance they had of getting my sale.

    • God

Dude, what’s the problem with Japanese VA?

      • Rentekabond

I don’t care about any Japanese voice actors because they basically blur together to me, whereas I have an established investment and interest in English VAsbeing a mix of growing up with them and actually understanding what they have to say.

In 2014, I refuse to support Japanese only localizations, as it just screams laziness to me.

        • Ladius

The game has been confirmed to be dual audio, though, so you should be fine.

Aside from this game, you should consider how some extremely niche games can be released with Japanese-only dubs because the amount of voiced dialogues would cost far too much and make the project unfeasible, especially for niche publishers that have to deal with sub-10k sales for their games. It’s a matter of money rather than laziness.

    • grandchief

Aksys said on the Playstation blog that it’ll be dual audio

  • lordsofskulls

“Coming Soon” in creepy voice only thing english in that whole video ;p

I buy anything that anime/RPG and even more if they are JRPG Horror (Very rare and very few out their)

  • Kornelious

It looks like the story will have some twist’s and turns, but personally the art style already sold the game for me lol :)

  • Ladius

Looking forward to this, I’m currently enjoying Demon Gaze and there’s room for (at least) one more first person dungeon crawler on my Vita :)

  • God

Unexplainable? No, there are no unexplainable things, there are things we do not comprehend, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an eplanation.

  • Ecchitori-san

Only the protag and his “MIND” are cool for my taste. But other than that, suprised that the game is dual-audio. Though wouldn’t that leave a west release redundant?

  • Wait, is it digital only on Europe or North America? Because I thought it was going physical on NA :/? Also, is the game going to have japanese voices like in the video?

    • Hexodious

Physical for North America, of course. Europe doesn’t get the goodies.

      • Yeah, Europe didn’t even got RF4 and SMTIV yet, right? :/

        • Hexodious

RF4 was reasonable enough, at least they cancelled it. We haven’t heard anything at all with SMT IV after it’s official announcement. It’s a little over year now since that announcement.

    • Zero_Destiny

I asked on Twitter and one of the Aksys employees told me it will be dual audio, both English and Japanese acting. :)

And as Kiryu said, it’ll have a physical release in the US.

  • Strain42

Sounds better than Mental Inside Nobody Doll, I’ll give them that…

  • Learii

    is coming to USA? =D

  • Tinye

Not sure if I’ll pick this up. We’ll see though when the time comes, I love my Vita

  • Guilherme Matheus Silva

They changed the meaning of MIND? =[ Mental Inside Nobody Doll was cool…
