In addition to creating fighting games, Arc System Works also brings fighting games from other developers like Chaos Code and Arcana Heart 3 to PlayStation 3. Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late from Melty Blood developers French Bread is coming to PS3 on July 24.

Famitsu reports the home version will have at least one additional character. Nanase wields a giant sword with ease and for some reason she’s chasing the protagonist, Hyde. The magazine teases that Nanase isn’t the only new character in Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late will cost 5,800 yen in stores or 5,800 yen including tax

Holy hell! how many games is arc systemworks working on right now?!

    • hazelnut1112

This is just localizing an already existing game to be released outside Japan. I don’t think it takes as much effort as to actually work on a game.

      • Go2hell66

        ???
they’re not localising anything. they’re porting a game from arcade machines to home consoles

        • Shiki

Obviously he meant that porting takes work but a lot less work than making a game. But porting still requires care since we all know…shitty ports mean dropped FPS, glitches, etc. Also probably means Arc System Works is handling netcode, which could mean IF the online play is unplayable, it’s all on ASW. However, since they usually do a good job with their other games…this is probably unlikely.

    • Arcade Bumstead

Arc is just the publisher. French Bread made this.

      • Go2hell66

Arc is making the console version, French bread developed the arcade release

        does anyone read the articles?

        • DyLaN

But still, the content is ady made by French Bread, ArcSys are just polishing and maybe add a few things into the console ver.

          • Kelohmello

The point he’s trying to make is that Arcsys is porting the game onto consoles. That’s still pretty much working on a game, what with all the things that go into porting.

  • Based Ignacio Puppo

Buying this day one, been interested in this one since the previews!

  • AceEsper

    Well I’m hyped.

  • Hagaren

Finally! It better have a disc version…

    • jinkusiraga

The 5,880 yen one is the physical disc version.

      • Hagaren

I was thinking about if it ever releases outside Japan. With the whole Chrono Phantasma Europe debacle, who knows what else might be PSN-only…

  • Chef Chef

  • D. Collins

Hey cool! Also people should try Chaos Code its a wonderful fighting game only thing is that it doesn’t have online but thats all right YA KNOW!

    • neo_firenze

Chaos Code is indeed fantastic, seconding this! It really feels like some lost game from the Neo Geo’s prime, with more up to date graphics. Great characters too.

    • Nick Sniezek

I third this. Chaos Code is one of the best fighting games I’ve played as of recent.

  • Göran Isacson

I do so hope this makes it over here as well. As for the new character… while I do like that she’s actually color-coordinated her skirt with her sword and I dig the look of her weapon, her overalldesign is a bit hohum compared to the rest. I dunno, it just doesn’t really stand out to me. Regular Ordinary Schoolgirl Uniform with a short skirt. It kinda looks like they took Mikasa from Railgun and added a sword.

    • DyLaN

*Misaka. Or more exactly the Tokiwadai school uniform since she lacks the iconic shorts.

      • Göran Isacson

Man, I keep getting that wrong. For some reason I think it’s the clone that’s named Misaka and the original is Mikasa. Thanks for the correction, and yeah- she has a skirt instead of shorts. Still not a whole lot of variety though.

    • ForteWily

Funny you should mention that. French Bread did make Fighting Climax… Where Mikasa is a character.

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, I did know that ;) Kinda amusing, but I do hope they didn’t just reuse the assets to create someone “new”.

  • NightzeroAX

Orie will finally be on my T.V. /slur

  • urbanscholar

Heard of the game & devs French Bread in passing. So I’ve been looking at ranbat videos on youtube here & there.

In conclusion, I will be importing this looks very interesting!

  • heavymetalmixer

It should have been ” . . . 5,800 yen in stores or 6,264 yen including tax”

  • colorblindnightmare

Good guy ArcSys to the rescue! finally man. I will be playing thebhell out of this when it’s finally available.

  • MasterScrub

Nanase might not be the only character? I wonder if that means those rumors about Filia from Skullgirls getting in are true.

    • Eder García

one character from UNIB apparently appears in one of the Skullgirls stage as NPC so… i say yes

      • http://zenkostickfighter.blogspot.com/ Zenko404

The NPC thing don’t have much to do here because she is only there thanks to the contributions during the campaign in indiegogo. Sincerely I prefer a completely new character than another guest (they already have two)

    • videoman190

Acorrding to French Bread she will be playble at the time the arcade version of Skullgirls is released for NESiCA!

  • Kornelious

Sweet, another 2D fighting game, Hope it gets a localization (A GOOD one)
Personally though I’m still waiting to see if the will make Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax for the PS3….

  • http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/21421.html?type=4 Kashell

    Mmmm…French bread…

  • Professor_Icepick

If ASW’s working on this in any capacity, I guess this means that there’s no chance of a PC port. Lame.

    • Eder García

ASW is testing the PC waters again with BBCT, also GGXX RELOAD and GG ISUKA are on PC so don’t lose hopes

      • Professor_Icepick

That’s not ASW’s work. Some other publisher just licensed the games so they could be re-released on Steam (and GoG, in Reload’s case). I’m not going to believe that ASW has any ambitions for PC releases until we get something newer than those old ports.

  • lunarsoul01

Good, now i dont have to go to the arcade every week to play it.

  • Cliff Ruiter

Please don.t release this game to USA only on PSN or digital download like the fighting games Chaos Code and Aquapazza…
Give us Europeans a chance to play this awesome fighting game too!!!

    • neo_firenze

You know PS3 games are region free, right? I’d be shocked to see this released anywhere outside of Japan, so import if you want to play.

      • Hinataharem

Yeah I don’t get this argument either. I have played plenty of games from other regions

  • Rafael Budzinski

…is the guy from the second pic REALLY Akatsuki? Now I’m getting curious about it! ~/o/

    • DyLaN

Yes, its been revealed for a long while that Akatsuki will be in it.
