By Spencer . April 27, 2014 . 10:57pm

Sega adapted Phantasy Star Online 2 for Android as Phantasy Star Online 2es. This is a simplified version of the popular PC game, but you can still create a character and explore dungeons.

Phantasy Star Online 2es broke through 100,000 downloads since it was released on April 7. An iOS version is scheduled to come out in May.

Now about that Western release… whatever happened to it Sega?

Sega: “Huh? They have PCs in the west? They want a PS Vita version too?”

    • I want to vita version still waiting

      • RawrWata

I just imported the Vita version a couple of weeks ago…

        Still waiting.

        • I’ve been thinking of doing that but wasn’t sure if it would work or not because of the servers and having a UK account?

          Have you hit any restriction?

          • RawrWata

My copy of the game has yet to arrive but I did ask around and people did say you’ll be able to link your UK account with your Sega ID with no problems and it all works fine, just that once you link a PSN to your Sega ID you can’t unlink it.

          • Thanks for that, May have to look into it, though I kinda got a enough to play on vita at the moment =P

          • RawrWata

Keep in mind that the game’s updates now go over 8gb, you’ll need a 16gb or possibly a 32gb at one point.

          • Great =[ I have a 16Gb and am having to delete games as it is =[

            That really sucks

    • Renaldi Saputra

SEA (South East Asia) to be exact

    • RawrWata

Sega of America : “PSO? Isn’t that the franchise we normally leave the game and it’s fanbase to rot away after a couple of years?”

  • Pythia Brixham

What does “es” even stand for?

    • BossBullet

      Easy system? Maybe…

    • I guess it’s for €$

Joking aside, they still have Phantasy Star Nova. No news for a while though.

      • yunamon

Explained during installation on Android version: “Essence”

      • Altin

It’s not that bad, the game itself is in comparison quite atrocious, but it’s good for farming FUN.

  • Callonia

I think Sega took a long walk off a skyscraper.

  • planetofthemage

The ability to play this game anywhere I go may be the end of my life.
    (Not a Vita owner… yet.)

  • the sad thing is we might get a genesis game before this comes out T.T (Referring to Pier Solar)

  • Renaldi Saputra

the unique thing is that if you play PSO2 on PC or Vita, you don’t need to make a new ID, just using the PSO2 ID and you get into it.

Also EXP in PSO2es affects PSO2, so you can do leveling on PSO2es too

  • Kornelious

    So……. Phone Port > Localization………I hate math :(

  • The Watcher

Would you still play PSO2 if it came out TODAY….BUT had the same death penalty as in SOA?

  • Luis Camargo

    Salt says:

    Hello Wound

  • Learii

I think Sega hate Vita they never located game for vita

    • BossBullet

Jet Set Radio, Ridge Racer, Hatsune Miku Prpject F. Are localized games for vita.

      • Learii

Hatsune Miku Prpject F coo but I mean JRPG not just some racing or anything like PSO 2

  • eilegz

    another begging for localization post…

    thanks sega.

  • Prinny Dood
