Vita Gets Another Rhythm Game With Love Live! School Idol Paradise

By Spencer . April 28, 2014 . 1:30am

Speaking of Kadokawa Games, in addition to action games like Killer is Dead and dungeon crawlers like Demon Gaze they also have a music game in the works. Love Live! School Idol Paradise is developed by Dingo, the developer behind the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series and later this year Persona 4: Dancing All Night.

Love Live! School Idol Paradise comes out before Risette’s video game since it’s due out in Japan on July 24. The game has three versions Vol. 1 Printemps, Vol. 2 BiBi, and Vol. 3 Lily White.

Vita’s the new Rhythm haven paradise. YET STILL TAIKO NO TATSUJIN IS MISSING.

Though the longer the wait, the “DX” edition shapes up into reality.

    • Kaien

      This year:
      - Uta Kumi 575
      - Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2
      - IA/VT Colorful
      - Love Live School Idol Paradise
      - Persona 4 Dancing All Night (it’s 2014 in Japan?)

It’s more like otaku rhythm paradise (not for 575 though)

  • Milewide

    Merchandising paradise!

  • AlphaSixNine

    LOCALIZE THIS

    • Renaldi Saputra

chances are maybe NISA will do this
but licensing could be a problem too
      especially the songs

      • neocatzon

The iOS and Android game, School Idol Festival, already announced for international release including in English. Published by Bushiroad. If that one prove successful there’s a chance Kadokawa will be interested too.

        • Renaldi Saputra

          maybe

        • Anononymous

When is it going to come out? Just wondering?

          • neocatzon

Had a same question myself. It’s announced in their official site. I also checked crunchy and afa news site to be sure. No release date so far..

      • http://sikachu.com/ Prem Sichanugrist

I would say it’s likely, given that NISA already acquired license for Love Live (for streaming on CR), according to their PrinnyBomb http://www.nisamerica.com/index.php?nav=n&article=pbomb/PrinnyBomb_Vol448.html

I think the only thing that could stop them is how Western perceive music rhythm game. However, given the fact that Hatsune Miku seems to be a success, I don’t see why Love Live wouldn’t.

But still, this is a pretty niche title …

        • Renaldi Saputra

but Love Live is Idol theme, I don’t think they who like Miku will also like this

  • leingod

Looks like it plays EXACTLY like the Miku games. This looks more interesting though… dunno, the setting maybe?

    • PoweredByHentai

If you are in the US, you can watch both seasons of Love Live on Crunchyroll.

    • ClaireBeare

I’m going to be that person just because you put emphasis on “exactly”.
No, no it does not. Not EXACTLY.

      • http://www.salarymandaishi.net/ SalarymanDaishi

Seconded. While I adore the gameplay of Miku, this manages to look incredibly disorientating with a horde of short segments appearing every which way. That combined with note symbols other than the holy PlayStation quartet make it seem extremely foreboding.

    • Renaldi Saputra

This is idol rhythm game, though not idol simulation one like im@s..

  • TrueDefault

    Finally some gameplay footage!!

  • Cazar

    Bleh. Vita needs iDOLM@STER.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      but it’s now on PS3

    • Kenyah

      Love Live is good.
Though, hopefully we will get cinderella girls for Vita.

      • Cazar

I can’t bring myself to like LL. It just seems really tacky in comparison.

I’d rather see a more proper iM@S game for Vita like the PSP got with THE iDOLM@STER SP; not some micro-transaction based card game that doesn’t even have music.

    • Keksus

PS3 gets Idolmaster. And hopefully they make an Idolmaster 3 with more focus on the actual producing again soon.

      • Cazar

That doesn’t mean there can’t be iM@S on vita. PSP and DS got spin-off titles.

And by the way THE iDOLM@STER One For All is releasing in a few weeks for the PS3, and is a full-blown producible iM@S game.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Hah, I wish I was into idols. I really don’t get the massive appeal. Either way, I hope the entire tracklist is actually good and not just generic j-pop. Not hating on the game by the way.

  • Lee Chueng

i know this is not related but…..what’s the difference between limited edition vs Famitsu DX Famitsu edition?

  • Kornelious

I think there is a better chance of games like this being localized now that we have the two Diva F games and Hyperdimension PP……So that’s good :)

    • TheExile285

HDN PP isn’t a rhythm game. Its a VN with dating sim elements.

      • Kornelious

Oh, your right it kinda falls around the sam category though…..kinda :P
On a side note being able to date the goddesses is gonna be awesome <3

      • DyLaN

More exactly, its an idol sim with dating sim elements.

  • Keko

Project Diva 2nd, IA/VT Colorful and now Love NICO NICO NII Live for Vita. My wallet can’t handle it!

  • otakumike

Hey Nisa is doing things with love live! recently so what are the chances they might localize this game?

    • Renaldi Saputra

licensing the songs could be a problem
