Tecmo Koei Taking Feedback For Toukiden

By Eugene . May 4, 2014 . 9:30am

Have you played Toukiden? Tecmo Koei are looking to hear your feedback with the help of an online survey.

Interestingly, the survey is pretty open with listening to how into the monster-hunting genre you are. Options include telling them if you’ve played other games in the genre like Monster Hunter or God Eater as well.

The rest of the survey delves into the game itself, so if you happen to think the chain and sickle could use a buff, this might be the place to make it known.

If you’re interested in giving your opinion, you can head over to their site here.

Toukiden is out now on PlayStation Vita.

Would have never expected this to be open to those of us outside of Japan. Thank you Temco :D

I basically told them I liked it but the online portion of the game needs work and It’d be good if they could increase the speed of the game. Also, I want a DW style Toukiden game :P

    • One thing I said was the online and offline missions should be synced, really annoying to not be able to progress one and not the other at the same time

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Considering you have to farm 200 Mitamas, I didn’t find that to be a deal breaker. Thing is, having separate campaigns make it so that you can have two different difficulty sets based on the gameplay mode~.

SP has the solo missions whereas MP has the timed missions. I don’t think you could have either if both campaigns would be the same. Either that or you’d be forced to do MP sometimes kinda like it happened in RO and SS~.

        • MaximDualBlade

They could do what Soul Sacrifice does. Have a main story missions separate from the online missions. I think in SS 80% of the missions separated from the main story and the lobbies are simple. Push 1 button to be ready and the other options like upgrading weapons/equipping weapons/anything that isn’t accepting the mission is on another easily accesible tab.

Also only the one who created the room should be allowed to choose the mission. Seems unfair but I have had to leave my own room because I greeted a person and while I was bowing he went to choose a mission…

          • TheExile285

The SS online method would be best. Especially since there aren’t any restrictions based on progress.

I’d like having a lobby for Toukiden where I could walk around buy I agree that the party leader needs to be the one picking the missions.

Also, the game needs an invite function.

          • Ya that’s another thing, they should allow us to create weapons online instead of quitting

          • MaximDualBlade

yes yes yes and yes. That restriction based on progress. That’s the main reason I disliked the online.

It should be simple and clean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UigzN-4JR14

Also the connection wasn’t as smooth as SS.

          • dboyz

The only thing that is lack in SS is the chat system =)…
            The chat is so meh….

          • MaximDualBlade

remember that with triangle you can free input. I also like the preprogrammed phrases XD like a classical “let’s use heat” or “save everything”

          • dboyz

Yea i know that, just the limitation of input screws my brain cells =)

          • MaximDualBlade

My touchscreen is totally busted, so it doesn’t let me free input XD I have come to love the game’s preset sentences because they are my only way of communication online XD

          • nonscpo

There was Chat in the Toukiden ?

      • MaximDualBlade

I told them the exact same thing(about the syncing off/online) Plus the online lobbies are a mess. The first one to get to the counter gets to choose the mission -.-
It should be the one who creates the room the one who chooses the mission

  • Shady Shariest

    “Is gud”
I wan’t someone to answer that to everything.

  • chibidw

“What kind of future game(s) would you like to see from Omega Force and Tecmo Koei? (3,000 characters max.) ”
“For any other comments, please fill in below. (3,000 characters max.)”

Localize Atelier Rorona/Ayesha Plus Vita! Both fields!

    • Duc PC-QB

      Atelier Musou !!!

    • ZnTxn

      ………… Fatal Frame.

      • SerendipityX

lol I have feeling your the only one who asked for this.

        • ZnTxn

Probably, but there’s nothing to lose, right? :(

  • This isn’t new, it was posted on their Twitter ages ago

  • MaximDualBlade

I just took it. I made it very clear that I am not a fan of their games and Toukiden was my first Tecmo Koei game from them. Also a quick localization of Toukiden Extreme with physical format. I wonder if they actually read the non obligatory answers XD

  • subsamuel01

Did the survey hoping they would bring more Japanese games stateside.

  • Franggio Hogland

Wait wait! Didn’t this already happen a month back? Or was that the European branch of TK?

    • No it already happened and TecmoUS released it

      • Franggio Hogland

OK, since, iirc, TKs European twitter linked to this a while ago.

BTW everyone who doesn’t say Captain Yamato is a delicious hunk….well you burn! Burn is purgatory you rapscallions!

  • Rafael Martines

Well in the last question, I put that would be nice if they follow the example what Capcom and GunHO did with their Hunting Games, make a console version like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Ragnarok Odyssey ACE

  • Be honest with your feedback guys, this may or may not be used to improve the sequel and increase or decrease the chances of localization

  • new_tradition

Maybe they’re thinking about bringing that upgraded version of Toukiden?

I haven’t played it yet, so I kind of would like them to bring over the enhanced version.

  • Varnes

Well hopefully they will take into consideration adding some kind of Mage weapon class, was disappointed the only ranged class was a bow.

  • Learii

I love it infact I want another one or bring DW strikeforce 2 <3

  • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

Is this a new one? They had one like a month ago already.

  • Dystopiq

I’ll probably wait for sequel. These types of games get much better as more iterations come out.

  • I’m still waiting for it drop a bit more before I buy it

  • leingod

Already took the survey. Game’s off to a decent start, but needs more weapon styles, needs bosses to be deadlier, bigger stages… and maybe a jump button.

They literally have the big stages and tens of weapon styles in the DW series, so why not include some?

  • nonscpo

I told them I want to jump and slash with all the weapons minus projectiles.

  • Anon Usr

High point of the survey for me was being able to tell them I’d like Ciel nosurge and Ar nosurge localized:) Probably doesn’t mean anything, but I tried :p

Anyway I liked Toukiden. I unexpectedly became interested after playing free demo and bought the game. But, I’m probably not target audience since I’m not that much into hunting games so… meh they’ll probably just ignore me lol. It would be nice if they add more ranged weapons in the future, though.

  • AlphaSixNine

    You’re late Siliconera lol

TK also opened a survey for Escha and Logy. Which is also basically asking about Atelier games and Gust games in general.

Was waiting on Siliconera to post about it. lol Perfect place to beg/ask for more Gust games as well as give fedback to how they handle Gust games. I said everything I wanted and begged for more Gust games lol

  • scdk

These surveys aren’t new, but it’s good to have more responses. One thing to note: You can change the last two letters of the URL from EU to NA. I’m not sure if taking the “wrong” survey gives more weight to a particular region’s chances of getting more localizations or not.

    NA: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/form/toukiden_na
    EU: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/form/toukiden_eu

There’s also a survey out for Deception 4, which is the game I bought over Toukiden (for the moment, anyway):

    NA: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/form/deception4_na
    EU: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/form/deception4_eu

    • AlphaSixNine

True. Can’t believe Silicnoera only noticed this now. I think they did this on all the games they handle, including Escha and Logy. That was pretty much the only survey I care about.

  • Kornelious

I’m surprised this available to us in the west…perhaps this has something to do with Toukiden Extreme :D
But while this game doesn’t stand out much, I really like it, it just holds my attention longer than most other Monster Hunters :)

  • In the section (if any) where they ask “any additional comments/questions” like the Kingdmn Hearts poll/feedback one a while back, someone should ask if they can start making LE/CE editions for the Atelier games…

I got money here and they ain’t giving me the box to throw it at :'(

  • RedSuisei

As a gauntlet user I’d like it if they toned down the particle effects. Nothing is more annoying than a knives’ spin or a spear’s rush throwing particles everywhere making the game lag and messes up my timing.

  • Drithe

This game rules. I have all the top elemental weapons and forged weapons for the Bow and Spear(awesomeness)

  • I just want them to bring Toukiden to consoles & to PC in the future.

I don’t get why publishers aren’t pushing their action-rpgs/”Monster Hunter Clones” like that outside of Japan. Japan is locked down, guys. But you can squash it – EASILY – in other countries by bringing your game to other platforms. And this is Tecmo Koei; they ALREADY DO THAT :)

So I’m hoping that Omega Force will bring this to consoles & PC eventually. It has great art and really cool demon designs.

  • Slizarus

I submitted my thoughts, I was happy to, I love this game. But I disliked the online missions, my biggest disappointment that I haven’t had fun playing Co Op.

  • UnderNight In-Seth

I was critical, completely and utterly. Basically said it was nothing groundbreaking. It was a meh game that didn’t do anything bad but nothing great either, Just a filler. Surprised it put Phantasy star Portable 2 on the check list. That game was incredible. Best handheld online game i’ve ever played.
