Island Days Is The Most Moe Tower Defense Game

By Spencer . May 19, 2014 . 12:21am

School Days maker Overflow is working with Klon to make a follow up to their visual novel. Makoto Ito returns, this time stuck on an island with a bunch of his female classmates in Island Days. The Nintendo 3DS game has a visual novel style story part and a battle part, which is essentially a tower defense game.

You place different characters on a map and arm them with weapons found in the story part. What are they fighting? Wild animals that want to eat their precious food supply.

Island Days is scheduled to come out on July 3 for Nintendo 3DS.

    Moe tower defense game?!

  • Nice Boat and all of that

Wasn’t this guy killed? How is he back? Is this a parallel universe? Why do all the females look the same apart from their hair? So many questions…

    • wererat42

Forgetting the anime, he only dies in the bad endings. As for looking the same that’s pretty common of most artists who settle into a certain style.

The question you should be asking is how is it he just happens to end up stranded with all the girls conveniently with no other males around? Shouldn’t these kids have adult chaperones to (one would hope) discourage such things as teenage pregnancy, murder, etc?

      • Zack

No, that will all be explained in the game. I’m sure that’s the entire premise of it all.

Ah, so his death was an alternate ending! That’s a relief.

game have many ending -> many good and few bad

          anime only used bad ending…

Intelligent people in a School Days spin-off? That’s not possible at all.

    • Spoiler alert!!!

There are multiple endings, in fact no one dies in most of the endings in the first game. The events of the anime aren’t canon to the games. Each game is pretty much its own parallel universe, from what I’ve gathered. With Cross Days, Summer/Shiny Days, and I’m guessing Island Days as well are pretty much “What If?” alternate universes. Cross Days was a retelling of the first game, but focused on characters who didn’t exist in the first game, and was basically, “What if a third party tried to interfere with Makoto’s love life and call him out on his cheating?” and Summer/Shiny Days is basically, “What if Makoto’s love life started during summer vacation, rather than at school and before he met Sekai?”, etc.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for clearing everything up! Island Days looks interesting, as I’m sure there will be death even in the “good ending” playthroughs. It reminds me of Super Danganronpa 2, where the characters are forced to kill their classmates in order to survive.

Lol Gotta admit that had me laughing for a few minutes.

  • TheManWithPants

Aww, I was hoping for animated scenes during the VN part. Oh well, still looks awesome though.

Maaaan, I really hope this game gets localized. Hell, I’ll even take a digital-only release if I have to.

    • British_Otaku

I hope we get more animated ending scenes, but I saw that they weren’t going for the anime presentation as much so I’m not expecting it so much.

  • Stephen Mc Devitt

Oh great… THAT guy! Makoto… Makoto, makoto, makoto…

  • Honest Liam

What? I don’t want to arm ANY of them!

  • brian

Can we ever have an article about this series without a nice boat comment?

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I don’t think moe is a correct description on boat scene though lol.
