I loved the little mechanical noises coming from the suit. So sexy.

So bittersweet that Rocksteady is moving to another franchise after this. I guess gamers will have to savor the hype for their Batman game for one last time.

I wonder if they will surprise with a controllable Batwing as well.

    • Samuel

I hope Rocksteady works on another DC Super Hero, so much potential with their studio.

Love how they hardly showed any clear footage of the combat, guessing its exactly the same as the last few games and they don’t want to show it off as people have been getting bored of it being the same… for me, don’t care, i like the combat, xD.

    • Samuel

Yea, the combat is the best part of the series. That and the predator missions. They’re probably saving actual gameplay for E3.

Personally, Spiderman and Ironman suit more my taste. Batman is too serious, and it’s kinda boring. Eveything in Batman is dark, black, grey, and dark green. I’m like more cheerful environment. Purely personal taste. The combat is pretty neat though. I hope one day Ironman games can be that good too.

      >Batman’s too serious
apparently you never seen the Adam West Batman

        God… this is indeed weird.

Some days, you just can’t get rid of a bomb

Yeah, the original 1960s Batman TV series/movie was the best. Everything else has just taken things too seriously. :)

    • Shippoyasha

Batman can actually be a pretty comedic character depending on the writer of a storyarc though.

But I don’t think most people would be cool with a Joel Schumacher style depiction of him these days on a major game or movie. The great thing about Batman is that his stories are reliably dark. There are all the other heroes for lighter stories. Don’t be fooled from the sparse variety of superhero movies so far. Guardians of the Galaxy movie looks to be more comedy based than people are used to. Spiderman movies still haven’t gotten the comicbook brand of Spidey humor right either. And no telling when there is going to be a real Deadpool movie. Though Deadpool game was pretty funny.

Well it seems barbara batgirl is out, but with the david cain reference in origins I hope cassie batgirl could be a thing.

  • Ric Vazquez

    Looking so awesome.

It looks cool and all but… I don’t know, I still can’t let go of the fact that they announced pre-order dlc RIGHT along side the game announcement. Seriously, devs aren’t even subtle about holding off parts of the game for ransom anymore…

    • RagingTiger44

I’ll tell you why this is the case. It has become the acceptable thing to do. The Arkham series has been doing character DLC since 1st game. To my knowledge, it started pre-order character DLC with Robin in Arkham City. Pre-order DLC was made available for purchase after a set period of time. The locking Catwoman’s campaign segments via online pass was frowned upon to the point the business practice was not included in Arkham origins. This may have been due in part to the general negative reaction to online passes. She was made into character DLC and people bought it. The Arkham series has gotten away with pre-order characters, skins, and challenge maps for three games. At this point, the practice is pretty much set in stone. There wasn’t enough of an uproar to dent this business practice. If the cash flow is unaffected, ANY protest is trivial.

I love how nowadays they show more cut scene stuff rather than actual gameplay, sure people like seeing Purdy animation but ya know most people are interested in seeing the actual gameplay and not the cut scene stuff.

And I can already tell, based on a few shots and even some of the cut scenes, this is going to be another unrealistic Batman, to me, for the simple fact they apparently don’t know how to make one that’s not stiff looking and has a natural flow of movement. One would think for the generation of gaming we are in developers would put some ability in to making an iconic figure actually have movement not reminiscent of a movable action figure.

  • Samuel

Bought a PS4 just for this game, can’t wait. Graphics look amazing as well, can’t believe that’s actually in game footage.

  • raeldor

I was going to buy this, but now Batman is dead there doesn’t seem much point. :P

  • Learii

those graphics make batman look like he have silver armors on

  • Ann Weschenfeller

Looks gorgeous…but I don’t really like the armor-like costume for Batman in this one. Just a nitpick though, I’m sure the game will be great. Rocksteady never fails.

  • Kroz

i was done with this series half way through arkham city. I hope for other peoples sake this one isn’t as jank as origins

    • darke

Never played the series as the game play always looked so boring. This with the batmobile in it makes the game finally look like has enough variety to be fun. :)
