I wonder how many of those registrations from outside of Japan.

  • Haganeren

Like a bat guy said :

    Where are they ?

  • That’s a lot. Impressive, I must say.

    • KnifeAndFork

It’d be if it was a game people had to pay for.
But put “final Fantasy” and “free” together and look at how many peopl own cell phones in Japan? No, not impressed that much…

      • next time they decide to market a game for an audience who’s economic market, and gaming habits you dont particularly find prudent to your gaming experience, b3 sure to let them know.

    • were not allowed to say how good it looks! you can only rate the game in how removed it it from thee core ff. or how much you dont want it. or how its not tailored to your gaming standards.

  • Would’ve had more if they bothered localizing it.

    • yomachaser

Oh they will, very few of their mobile efforts stay over there.

      • and all of the DQ ports pretty please? Crossing my fingers

  • JonathanisPrimus

Well, we had a run traditional game industry …

    • yeah thank goodness that era is over with

      • KnifeAndFork

        Your joke…. Not funny man

        • well I thought it was funny to think 1 mobile game woukd collapse the foundational aspects of traditional gaming with 1 single Final Fantasy game for a mobile device.
It sounds like the same arguments that Nomura is destroying ff since 13 did bad…

  • Splinter

Not impressed at all, since it’s a FTP with the name “Final Fantasy”. The game looks great but I’ll not support if it comes to the west. Square needs to know that most of us need Type-0 and games on consoles. It’s disappointing to see that a game with so much potential is being wasted on the wrong plataform.

    • Herok♞

Seeing as Type-0 was supposed to be a mobile game in the first place, I wouldn’t say saving the original work and releasing the game for the original platform is a waste in any way shape or form.

      • KnifeAndFork

Oh sure lets just ignore that the PSP one was even made then; don’t bother localizing because hey, it was supposed to be a mobile game in the first place! They just made a mistake that’s all lol

        • Herok♞

Lets a take a look at the top of the article for a second, its labeled as an Iphone and now lets check the tags, Android, Final Fantasy Agito, and Iphone. The comment I was replying to saving that it was a waste as mobile game, and in reply I was just saying how if the game originaly made for mobile and they make a mobile game, its not a waste. Clearly there is a difference between staying on topic and ignoring something, you need to learn it before replying to me for no reason =)

        • Kumiko Akimoto

I don’t see why them making this means they can’t bring that one over.

          • yeah. if anything, this is only going to increase the fund pool for said localization. ignorance = bliss I suppose. even when that ignorance hinders the bliss.

          • KnifeAndFork

Why does there need to be a fund pool S-E is not indie and need not a Kickstarter lol.

            You guys are funny

          • Usually, For companies with multiple projects, they divide funds or revenue for projects. It’s basically a budget for each potential game or products released.

It’s relative only because more feedback from customers, usually by way of purchase lol, means they are interested and maybe they can make the financial risk to start using that money to, localize a project within the same development team or product line.

It’s not a fund. It’s a budget for each department/project. I tend to use casul language sometimes so sorry for that.

On the other hand thinking anything based on the sales alone would be ignorant on my part. So it only remains a hopeful opinion for the outcome of a US release.

The quandry that agito was put in (US PSP to JP PSP Sales at the end of PSPs generation) does not seem to be affecting the production of the Agito/Type 0 games in the way of projects. But they do seem to be coming out slowly i guess.

We seem to both want a US release. I guess you’re just more upset about the wait?

          • KnifeAndFork

            Who isn’t?

          • me … thousands if not millions of other gamers who find something else to play. I understand being upset about it though.

        • your comnent is a mistake. your talking about 2 games release in there own region.

if its any consolation, US voices have been recorded. Also HD assets exist.
Take that info and internorage or speculate freely.

    • VeniVidiVici

I downloaded it, and it’s pretty fun, you should give it a try. I’d definitely get it if comes out here.

And if it does come out here, they might use it as a gauge to see how many fans would play it and use that data to make a decision to release it here. They were able to see fan outcries for the game for the past 3 years, but not cold hard statistics that they could get by releasing this here, seeing the rough numbers, and making a decision. IMHO boycotting this game is kinda like shooting yourself in the foot, especially since you don’t have to pay anything to play it.

I’m as bitter as the next person about Type-0(hell even more so, as I’ve been wanting the game since they were releasing magazine scans about it ;_;) but I wouldn’t not support Agito if it comes over here. Especially since it has potential to get Type-0 release, or maybe possible Vita remaster, here.

Of course, I’d keep my hopes low though. Since this is all entirely speculation on my part. It’s just my view of the whole thing

      • KnifeAndFork

        Mobile=/= console. Different demographic

        • VeniVidiVici

Never said mobile=console. Didn’t say same demographic either. Just stating my view on the whole matter, and the possibility of square using Agito to garner fans for a potential Type-0 release.

Regardless of if not all the people who play Agito have PSPs/Vitas, the ones who do will either gain interest in Type-0 if they haven’t already or, if they haven’t heard of Type-0 at all, be aware of the game and buy it if it comes.

          • KnifeAndFork

Provided it’s actually a good game and not some overpriced shallow throwaway Mobage crap laden with DRM and pay to win pay wall microtransactionfest that turn off players…

    • Ric Vazquez

      Agreed 100%

    • thnkgod4mentlillness

I hope you do know the creator of Type-0 and Agito has plans of releasing Type-0 on the PSN, and both games in the west, and is trying to figure out a way to get both released here… I don’t like “app games,” but I like Final Fantasy, and Type-0 was fucking amazing. I have both Type-0 and Agito already, but I’m still going to support them when they come out in the west…

      • Sora96

Type-0 is available for PS Vita and PSP on the Japanese PlayStation Store.

        • thnkgod4mentlillness

I meant the west man. He has interest in bringing Type-0 to the west on PSN. I already own Type-0, but I hope it comes out though because I know tons of people want to play it.

  • Hiro

Future of gaming right here, sadly.

  • Kornelious

Y’know, it would probally rack up more players if you localize it LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD! :(
But I digress, congratulations on the success…..

    • DanielGearSolid

      You mean digress?

      • Kornelious

Yeah my bad, that’s what happens when I try to sound smart :P

        • DanielGearSolid

Lol, quick edit it, nobody has to know

          • Herok♞

Except the people who see this comment chain.

          • DanielGearSolid

I guess… the jig is up

          • Kornelious

            I changed it!…..Crap we’re made aren’t we….

          • Zack

Ha! I caught you! The game’s up, Kornelious!

          • Kornelious

  • Vitor Duarte

Please Square-Enix, I want to play this, I want to enjoy this part of Fabula Nova Crystallis, but first, please give Type-0. It’s been too long. And stop with this mobile games trend. Mobile games are good for social stuff that can’t be pulled sucessfully anywhere else!

    • KnifeAndFork

Actually theoretically, handheld consoles have all the capabilities of mobile games. Devs just choose not to take advantage of them because they feel it’s not needed in Japan where people (mostly kids and teens) meet up in person to play one another.

I remember having a discussion with someone once about how it’s a shame PSP and Vita never really took advantage of their built in Infrastructure (and Vita’s 3G) when you’re out and about on the road and his answer to that was “well that’s what you have Adhoc Party, XLink Kai and your PS3/PC for”

  • KnifeAndFork

Of course it has 500,000 registered users….it’s a free game.

I just hope this isn’t the path Japanese gaming is headed overall…

  • Amber XLeonhart

I’ve been waiting for the English version since the trailer came out..this is horrible! What about us square enix?!

  • TheBlackRabbit

    8 days an half a million……niceeeee

  • MK

Cool but the number would double if they translate it.

  • Kumiko Akimoto

I wish I could too but no way to play it.

  • shuyai

“Final Fantasy Agito is available now for iOS and Android in Japan. The game has not been announced for the West”

did i dream that? i could have swear i heard Agito is coming to west but not type zero

  • Chiupon

It blows that the game almost constantly crashes for me. I have a 4s so I can hardly play it ;C I really don’t want to upgrade just yet though…

It’s actually a pretty fun time sink.

  • RedSunset

I downloaded it and tried it out, but only logged in 3 days. too many loading screens and the loading time sucks away any hype I had for playing it :/ just takes too long to get to any action.
it was promising, but unless they fix that up I prob won’t be touching it again.
