Cannot wait to see where Cardfight, Persona Q and The Stranger of the Village of Sword (will take the results of this one with a pinch of salt) chart next week.

  • Kaetsu

    Any reviews for PQ yet?

    • AlteisenX

Famitsu gave it 9′s and 8′s iirc.

      • Hound

Well.. if they did, it’s not on their website yet http://www.famitsu.com/cominy/?a=page_h_title&title_id=14290

      • MrTyrant

        Any trustful review?

        • AlteisenX

          There’s such a thing?

          • MrTyrant

Yes there are, except the ones from IGN or Famitsu you can bet at least a coin in other sites.

          • AlteisenX

If you take another person’s opinion on a game on a buy or ignore basis, you’ll miss out on a lot of niche games… even more so if its a small time journalist. You need to learn to form your own opinion by the sounds of it.

          • God

I’m pretty sure it’s impossible by definition for a review to be absolutely trustworthy… Is there like a site that talks about all the features of a game and how they work without being a review? I would like to see one…

    • Hexodious

Don’t trust any reviewers before the game is released.

  • Desk

it’s gonna be hard to not spoil persona q for myself

    • Ric Vazquez

      Same here

  • IS | 桂木

Persona goes dungeon crawling? The series was always part dungeon crawler :/

    • Hound

Now it’s an adventure of cartography in a sprawling multi-layer dungeon and not a roguelike like it was in P3 & P4?

      • hng qtr

So Persona 1 with map drawing?

        • Hound

only the first-person portions.. So.. Soul Hackers with map drawing and no AI robots.

Oh wait. Fuuka and Rise are robots O.o. So.. it’s Soul Hackers with map-making and Cross-over chibis.

          • God

Wait, Fuuka and Rise are robots?!

        • nick_54g

          theres a persona 1?

        • Hexodious

No one remembers anything before Persona 3, people suck at math.

          • Ric Vazquez

            LOL

      • Shane Guidaboni

P3 and P4 were roguelike? Not a chance.

  • Jumbokitty724

I’ll definitely pass on this one =/ I don’t like the 1st person view thing they have going on in the Etrian Odyssey games.

    • LM009

you’ll get used to it, I didn’t really like etrian at 1st either but I forced myself to play it and I wouldn’t say I’m a hardcore fan but the games are really well made. add persona to to the mix, I think we have a real winner.

    • Hexodious

      Your loss.

  • NeptuniasBeard

Finally, now it’s only a matter of time until the full opening song for PQ is released!

    • DragKudo

      Ha about three months.

      • NeptuniasBeard

I give you an upvote as a Supernatural/Super Mario fan

  • Aaron Alcindor

Why it couldn’t be the same release date as the usa , gonna get spoil hard :/

    • Sean ‘Geg’ Reddie

HA! Europe doesn’t even have an announcement yet. Consider yourself lucky.

  • NeptuniasBeard
    • $61526767

I cannot wait till the OSTs are uploaded.. My ears! *snaps fingers* Love me some persona music! <3 Nice opening tho.

    • E.T.993

1:02 is where shit gets real.

    • Ric Vazquez

      So much…hype!

  • Kayriss Wins

I’m gonna hold off on the Idol game, need to save the money for that Noire spin off, I really hope that gets a NA release date soon btw.

  • MrTyrant

Never had been fan of Etrian Oddysey as many people less never understood why everyone praise them so much until I played the fourth entry and I did like it quite a bit. Still I’m a person who lives for narrative, character interaction and many gameplay teaks but Etryan Oddysey managed to entertain me as a simple dungeon crawler. Being very basic yet fun in execution it’s hard to describe but the sensation is there. The great music made everything better. Now we have Persona spin-off crossover made by the same guys and I say that regardless of my dislike to these personas milkfest I still think It would be worth playing it like Persona Arena.

  • Ecchitori-san

I hope that every time we get a Persona release we get a new trailers (even a bit) of P5

  • Kotori Itsuka

Wait…. hyperdimension neptunia pp coming to eu? I have not heard of this….there is a retail version, right?

    • Hexodious

Huh? It has been released for quite some time now (Well, at least in my country, living in the EU, it’s retail).

      • Kotori Itsuka

W-what?! In what country do you live?

        • Hexodious

          Netherlands

          • Kotori Itsuka

Oh, I see. I live in Norway and I haven’t seen it yet :(

    • darke

Saw the physical in an Australian game store yesterday, and it’s not even supposed to be out yet (digital isn’t even). So I guess it’s coming to Europe since some idiots who don’t understand geography apparently believe we’re up there.

      • Kotori Itsuka

Holy f*ck, I need to pay attention. Some people think Australia is in EU now?

        • darke

Sorry, my bitterness was a bit subtle. Australia is a ‘region 2 country’, aka ‘Europe’ according to Sony. Despite the fact that we don’t need our stuff translated into a dozen different EU languages, we have to wait for it.

After English, the largest spoken language is Mandarin; which at the very least would mean that Region 3 would make more sense due to geographical locality and language overlap, or Region 1 because like the US we’re all expected to know English, but no, apparently we’re ‘European’ because…?

  • Ban The Jackass

Come fast, come quick! Persona Q NA Release! cantwait! :DDD

  • Astraye

    Is Persona Q canon ?

    • Haganeren

All is canon, even the dancing game

      • Astraye

But how is this possible ? I mean there are some characters who shouldn’t be here…

        • Haganeren

Unfortunately, i don’t know more than you about that but the fact Persona Q is canon is what they said…

        • Hexodious

Persona Q isn’t confirmed yet to be a canon or non-canon, while Persona 4 Dancing All Night is confirmed to be canon because the story is told after the events of Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold.

          • Astraye

I highly doubt it will be canon then, unless they all lost their memories in the end, i dont know how it is coherent.

          • Hexodious

I don’t believe that it will be canon anyways, no one remembers each other in Persona 4 Arena. And if they make it canon due a memory wipe that would be pretty lame and cheap plot development.

          • darke

(takes notes) Persona wrestling games canon; Persona Wizardry-clones not…

  • Alestaos

You forgot EU June 4th Monster Monpiece digital release.

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

You know Nintendo isn’t going to get rid of the region-lock.

Besides it’s coming over here in Fall.

  • Lusankya

Look, no player likes the region lock, but the quality or success of the game won’t change anything. Although… actually now that I think of it if PQ is going to be a real success than it’s more likely that it will come to Europe.

Overall it’s also not like there are tons of games we don’t get in both NA and EU. I can only think of SMT IV and PLvAA, and even those two games are only coming later and not not at all.

  • Tyler Beale

    Why not?

  • 하세요

Simply said, to keep Japan in. They can get away with charging the Japanese players more. 3DS games can cost up to $60 over there. They will import over here to save money since our games are generally $40.

It’s not to keep other countries out. They profit more off of in-country sales than imports.

  • darke

Only in America. In ‘Europe’ it’s probably still cheaper to buy a Japanese copy. :?

  • SeventhEvening

I know that’s the line Nintendo uses, but the lack of a region lock never hurt the software sales of the PSP (wildly more popular in Japan), the Vita, the PS3…. Hell, even the DS didn’t seem to be a problem. Atlus pulled the same line with P4 arena, but it’s still the only game with a lock on that system.

Other fighting games didn’t have a problem. Other systems and other games don’t have problems either. Given that Japan gets most Japanese games way before everyone else, the import argument holds less water. Would you hold off playing the new game in a series for 4 months so you can wait for it in the mail and then play it in a language you don’t understand? Especially since the game will be discounted to cheaper than that by that time?

It’s an archaic holdover from generations ago. Nintendo is the only one using it. If I want to play Persona Q, I’ll need to cross my fingers and hope that Nintendo Korea decides to actually release another game.

  • 하세요

You have to consider that Sony isn’t solely a gaming company. They have multiple, multiple departments of income. Nintendo has one thing – video games. That’s their only profit margin. It sucks, but that’s business.

  • SeventhEvening

They might want to reconsider. It might have made sense before business wise before, but I’m not buying another Nintendo system until they remove the lock. I’ve never regretted any purchase more than my 3DS. Nintendo doesn’t seem to care about customers outside of the US or Japan at all.
