Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Gets Cuter With Chibi Mode

By Spencer . June 3, 2014 . 1:00am

Another change in Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed for PlayStation 4 is players can use Chibi Mode from the beginning of the game. This option makes all of the characters walking around Akihabara adorable super deformed counterparts.

Usually, players unlock Chibi Mode by completing Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, but in the PS4 version you can use Chibi Mode from the beginning of the game.

sorta just looks like a big headed mode to me…

    • Tarkovsky

Just curious but do you even know what chibi is?

      • John Diamond

yes. But it looks like all they did was give people big heads and that’s it

        • Frii

Nope, their bodies are smaller and chibi is child body, in Japan it’s usually like that, smaller body and bigger head

ooh. wait it’s probably cauise i skipped the first 10 seconds straight into the action lol.

Ugh!!! I REALLY hope that the PS3/Vita versions do well enough overseas to warrant a release of the PS4 edition. Even though this is available in all of the games- I dunno, it just seems like they’re adding all kinds of cool stuff to the PS4 version that makes me much more excited for it than, say, the Vita one :P

    • I’ll do my part. I’ll go for the PS3 version.

      • Kornelious

I was originally going to only buy the Vita version (Mainly due to money concerns) But I can probally make some room for the PS3 version as well =)

Thanks! I feel bad for Xseed; localizing the PS3 and Vita versions while the PS4 edition is being released in Japan with extra goodies. I guess you could look at it this way though- in the event they DO release the PS4 version in the west, it just means more money for them :D

oh no chibi on vita? :(

    • Rose Spinoza

Well, according to the article, to get chibi mode on Vita/PS3 you gotta beat the game first.

Ha ha, I have to admit that it’s… sooort of unsettling to see chibi mode in action, if only because the characters have shrunk while the rest of the world stays the same. It all adds up to some mighty uncanny valley.

  • Kornelious

Hehe that’s so adorable! More reason for the PS4 version to be localized as well :)
