Toukiden Extreme Demo Out Right Now

By Spencer . June 5, 2014 . 2:28am

imageYou don’t have to wait any longer to see the next installment of Toukiden. Tecmo Koei just released a demo for Toukiden Extreme in Japan.

If you have a Japan region PlayStation Network account you can grab the demo for PSP or PlayStation Vita (if you have a spare memory card and don’t mind resetting your system).

Toukiden Extreme comes out on August 28 in Japan.

demo is ps vita tv compatible

I was about to pick up Toukiden via the playstation flash sale. Good to see this series is going strong.

Since I can’t get to my JP account on my Vita currently, Can someone play it and tell me how it is please? :D

    • Chu

I played for about 30 mins, I’m loving Naginata because it can pull off some nice combos. Guns are my second favorite it contains 8 bullets in the cartridge and 3 different bullets types to choose from, explosive ammo makes it look like you have a grenade launcher lol. The gun requires manual reloading by pressing triangle and holding triangle unloads all your ammo.

Kanabo is slow but it helps pushing back the mobs, unfortunately I haven’t used it enough to see how good it is. I’m not sure whats on the top right of the screen is, but I think it changes the playstyle/formation of your allies

      • Kornelious

Sounds pretty good so far, I’m glad that they implemented new stuff to the core game as well as the weapons and monsters…Thanks :D

  • I don’t like any of the new weapons plus they removed my dual knives

    • Luis Es.

What?! I’m backing my my vita right now since i have only one memory card… so switching between my American and Jp account is a lil pain in the butt…. but i’m doing it to try this demo… Dual knives were the only weapons i ever used in Toukden… and now you say they’re removed!? I hope they just weren’t in the demo and are going to be in the real game.

      • Seems it was replaced by the halberd in the demo, the kurisagama was replaced too

      • Chu

The purpose of the demo is to let you try out the new weapons :/

        • Luis Es.

Yeah i figured that out as soon as i was able to play the demo for myself. Shin Asura’s comment was very misleading.

  • Kayseur

I didn’t really like Toukiden before, but now that they’ve added the gun I can honestly say I’d be almost willing to buy it once they release it in the west. That’s how much I liked this weapon compared to the previous ones in this demo (no, the bow wasn’t good enough for me).

    • The gun is slow and boring plus you get knocback if you’re too close

      • Kayseur

Yeah? Well maybe they are but that’s still the weapon I liked most, that’s the rest that I found was boring actually. Dual knives were faster, so that’s the ones I used in the previous demo, but there just wasn’t anything that I truly enjoyed in them.

Actually I’ve been using a Ranger in PSO2 (and back in PS Portable as well), so since the “slow” feeling the guns give is pretty close to what Launchers do, that might be the reason.

      • Dystopiq

Were you expecting to spam it?

    • Luis Es.

The gun was my favorite of the new weapons. the different types of ammo are cool and it’s just fun sitting back and letting loose.

  • Hector Velar

Tecmo Koei you guys are just rocking the video game market right now. Keep it up!

  • xPhoenixMoon

I knew better than to buy the first version of Toukiden, low and behold Extreme was announced.

I made that mistake with Soul Sacrifice and Ragnarok Odyssey, sadly because of that I won’t be buying Delta or Ace. I get it has a lot of new content but still its nothing more than an expansion and no matter what they say can change that.

    Damn you Capcom.

  • kaimo

Will they dub it this time?

  • هاكو ممممممممم

Well the original one was a little bit boring so I dont think that ill buy this one
