Indie RPG Shiness Shows Off Alpha Gameplay Footage

Indie RPG Shiness has reached its Kickstarter goal and has even hit two of its stretch goals thus far. With less 40 hours to go until the game’s Kickstarter campaign comes to an end, developer Ynnis Interactive have shared alpha gameplay footage from the title that shows off a work-in-progress area and puzzle.

Shiness is inspired by the sort of dynamic fights you see in manga, combined with the fantasy of role-playing games. You can learn more about the game’s battle system in our previous coverage.

Shiness is in development for PC and its next stretch goal is for PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Looking at this game remind me of some PS2 era RPG.
    Good old times.

Watching this kind of reminds me of when I played the Dark Cloud games…

Puzzles is all I wanted to hear! I wish it reached the Wii U goal, otherwise I’ll keep an eye on it for the PC version.

  • Nice! This was one I was keeping an eye on =)

The Puzzle solving is like wild arms.

The furry is strong in this one.

But at least looks very-very playable. So… it’s on my list :)

I saw a video of the combat, looked really lousy.

I would have thought this game had done a lot of better on Kickstarter. They had much to show and I guess “Tales of” fans would like the style. However, I didn’t decide to back the game this time because

    1) I am not too sure whether I like the puzzles and battle system. Turn-based Grandia style battle system would have won me over.

    2) Even if they’re working the PC version with Unreal Engine 3, they’re not porting to PS3. This said, I probably grab the game on Steam sale after the release and reviews.

The music strongly reminds me of Chrono Cross.. and that may be enough reason alone to back this kickstarter =)

  • Red Aloia

Great game like this should found all its goals.

Interesting. Would like to donate but I’m broke right now -_- Wish I had heard of it before the deadline was so close. Thankfully I’ll still be able to pledge by PayPal and it will still count towards the PS4 Stretch Goal.

You know, this game kinda reminds me of the PS2-classic Rogue Galaxy,
with the whole max 2 party members in the team and freestyle battle
system with flashy moves. Either way, looks pretty fine. ^v^
