Dead Rising 3’s Super Ultra Arcade Remix DLC To Remain Xbox Exclusive

By Robert Ward . June 16, 2014 . 10:00am

Capcom recently revealed that Dead Rising 3 is coming to PC, and then followed that announcement up by announcing a significant new piece of multiplayer DLC for the Xbox One version of the game. This DLC is not coming to PC, Capcom said to Siliconera.

During E3 week, Capcom released Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha, a 4-player cooperative multiplayer mode for the game. Producer Jon Airhart confirmed to us that this DLC will remain Xbox-exclusive.

“The DLC revealed at E3 for the XBO won’t be available on PC, but the four downloadable content episodes will,” Airhart said. The four downloadable episodes being referred to here are already available on Xbox One, and let you play as characters other than Rick in additional single-player episodes.

Dead Rising 3 will be available for PC this Summer. You can learn more about the PC version of the game here.

Gee Capcom, thanks for including an Onimusha costume even though you won’t give that series so much as an HD re-release…

    • Stephen Mc Devitt

You don’t get it! Capcom HATES making fun games and wants to push more gritty, colourless, dull and boring games like Bionic Commando (reboot), Dark Void and Lost Planet 3.

      • darke

But CoD-alike FPSes sell great! And they’re gritty, colourless, dull and boring games, so clearly Capcom must be on to something!

        • Stephen Mc Devitt

Except Capcom whines and claims they’re financial failures, especially Resident Evil 6.

I always say kids and bro-gamers only play Call of Duty, so why would they pretenders when are able to play the real thing?

    • Ou7

That’s actually because they’d need to redo the whole game again from the ground up. At least in regards to the first game from what I know.

      • Spirit Macardi

And that, to me, would be perfect. The first game is probably the weakest entry due to the extreme difficulty, turret controls, and the fact you only go Oni in the ending cutscene and not in gameplay. Remaking it could fix everything.

It’s not even like the series was cancelled due to poor sales; the games were quite profitable. Yet they just let it drop off the map completely after the PS2 era.

  • monkey king

Well, hype boner killed; seriously what’s the point?

  • DesmaX

    Also, it’s capped at 30fps.

    What a waste

    • SlickRoach

Whoa, you took the words right out of my mouth! I literally thought “what a waste” after reading this article because if DR3 ever came to PS4 I’d get this DLC in a heartbeat. Oh well.

    • The Watcher

Still fun, and nothing beats that.

  • FivePointedTheStar

Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha

    Wow… that’s a long name.

    • XD hahahahahahahah. Wow. Awesome reference!

  • Matty

Capcom… Thanks for reminding me to keep hating you

  • This tasted very salty.

  • BalmungX

Yeah, like the main game, which was an exclusive too?Well i will wait for the PC release

  • oraoraikuze

    exclusive for how long?

    • bigstew

well probably till or if it gets to platinum or greastest hits status which for a year or more if ever, the new trend like ps4 paying extra to get destiny first more are doing this, just get a xbox one and stop complaining, they are even stricter in japan where preorder dlc and after dlc is exclusive and can never be boughten

  • Monterossa

    cool story capcom.

  • Ni ~Algidus~

    bring on the mods!

  • Brion Valkerion

So… capped at 30fps, and none of the coolest dlc they have ever made which made people excited for this game.

Its like they did not want to sell any copies at all.

    • darke

I imagine the cap will be fixed within a day or two by an enterprising hacker; but it’s dumb all around.

  • Luis Camargo

I will wait for the Extra Mega Japanese Edition for PC.

  • Ms_Fortune

His name is Nick, not Rick.

Nick Ramos to be more precise.

I would imagine this DLC will stay exclusive, it was probably a similar deal to Case Zero and Case West DLC that DR2 had which never made it to PC or the PS3.

    • Vinny Dilallo
    • Yeah, you might be right. The Case DLC never went out of Xbox’s exclusivity deal so we’re probably not gonna see this. But who knows? One day, we’ll get news this remix DLC will come to PC. But until then, better take their word for it. At least we get the episodic DLC.

  • VWinds

We should’t be upset about this. We should thank Capcom.
They just saved us all ~$50 by telling us not to buy their game.

    • darke

      More or less.

If you want to get the full game; get it on xbox.
But if you wanted it on xbox, you probably would have it already.
Thus: no point buying the game.

I can’t imagine there’s a situation where someone who wasn’t completely digital-phobic would say, “I want the version where I don’t have the chance to get everything.”

But they’ll have a GoTY edition with all the DLC bundled with the base game for half price in a year or so, it’ll probably include this anyway so why bother paying full price I guess.

  • Limbless

He means it won’t be on the PC until a few months from now.

    • darke

      That wouldn’t surprise me.

  • Abend

i guess capcom is just tired of having money

  • Just Tim

Wow. I would find it understandable if Dead Rising 3’s graphics requirements were similar to Crysis or Microsoft paid an exclusivity deal for this DLC. Those are the only two logical reasons I can think of, as of this writing.
