MapleStory Is Bringing Us Back To School For Its First Spin-off

By Eugene . June 21, 2014 . 9:31am

Nexon’s online PC game MapleStory is getting an in-game spin-off, in the form of MapleStory Friend’s Story: First Spin-Off. It’s found within the main game itself.  You can have a look at its anime trailer above.

The update places the NPC characters from within the MapleStory universe within an alternate world—a school fantasy life, to be precise. You’ll be able to zone into this new spin-off area and complete quests in the school setting.

There are “modern day” fixtures in this world of course, including buses, a proper school level, and naturally school uniforms. You’ll get your quests via mobile phone too, so it seems.

Man, those proportions on the characters freak me out!

That! Is rather odd actually. Sounds cool though. Too bad I don’t play MS anymore. Though I’m very interested in the sequel, which looks pretty great at the moment.

  • MapleStory is undead. Why can’t someone shoot it in the head already?

In any case, this addition seems interesting. But given that it is from the Korean server, that’s still a long ways to go to wait for the off chance that it does get ported over to the Global servers. Because, well, not every single content from this game is made for all worldwide servers.

      “MapleStory is undead”

It’s funny because they had that zombie event a couple of weeks back.

But really, I tried playing the GMS version of the game and I’m surprised how much the playerbase have dropped.

Even Scania doesn’t have that many players, it’s probably why Nexon is suddenly rushing out this sequel.

You must’ve played during a bad time, because MS is far from dead.

I misread the title as Maplestory Friend Zone. God I need a social life…

The Maple PV was great xD
