Capcom And Nexon Team Up For Street Fighter IV Arena

By Eugene . June 23, 2014 . 4:28pm

Capcom have teamed up with Nexon for another upcoming mobile game called Street Fighter IV Arena in Korea.

What little we know of the game is that it’ll be on mobile (though whether iOS, Android, or just one isn’t stated yet) and that it’ll be released some time later this year.

If you’re interested and happen to have a Korean phone number, you can try signing up for the closed beta test here.

    I’m not surprised.

“apcom” typo on the homepage, but “Appcom” would’ve been an amusing term for this situation.

  • Takane Shijou

    Capcom pls.

    Pls no.

It’s already hard enough to like you as is, then this.

    • SlickRoach

When I imagine Capcom & Nexon teaming up I can only think of this.
Still an out of the blue collab though.

  • mike dickson

oh boyz another street fighter 4 clone yeah ( sigh oh god no )

  • DeAndre Atchison

What’s next? Super street fighter 4 super special awesome arena 2015 edition for iOS?

  • RagingTiger44

And people thought Ultra was the last game…

  • Looks like Nexon might end up buying Capcom, if they somehow find a loophole for this contract. Capcom, looks like you found the bottom of the bottomless pit.

All I can say is GG.

I was about to make some witty comment on how 1 hated company (Capcom) is teaming up with another hated company (Nexon NA) to do something that nobody cares about.

But then I realized it was Nexon Korea, the not-as-hated-as-much Nexon instead.

That nobody in the western world cares about.

  • NightzeroAX

Nexon and EA should collab next. All the bad guys forming together.

    • Kumiko Akimoto

      Bad guys righttt

  • Paul Rodriguez

Mobile. Already terrible and I lost all interest.

  • ThatGuy3190_7

Street Fighter 4 Arena. Persona 4 Arena. I’m trying to allow it to soak in but it just isn’t.

Now you can rent to play as your favorite fighter!

Yo whats with the anti mobile crowd? Its not like they’re just sitting there not making games. Make mobile games to bring in money to make AAA games. Thought this would be obvious by now to people. Or are obsessive Megaman fans still salty over us SF fans getting all the love ;)? But seriously though show love and love gets shown back. Obviously bashing their skulls in with demands and threats aren’t working so try the opposite. Support the companies that make your favorite games, support those franchises go ahead and buy those so called “crappy games” they made (at a discount of course). Companies won’t risk it unless they have nothing to lose and I’m trying to understand why alot of people don’t understand that.

i won’t speak for my issues with all of mobile gaming, some of it i quite like. what i don’t like is when tradition console devs instead of ever listening to fans, though in some cases i can see why not, decide to head over to mobile and simply proceed to shovel out.

case in point capcom. fans expressed their dislike with how they were running many of their favorite older series’ into the ground. it’s not like they forgot who to design a great game, they simply did… well fuck knows what. but look at RE and MM. maybe not using the name in some situations would have helped. then they because comfy going overboard with DLC on just about every product they made… and at the same time leaving many beloved series out in the cold, or developing out of house. but they still manage to pull something like monster hunter every now and then, even though it won’t save them from the resident evil 6s

instead of giving the fans what they want [they are one company which benefits from this, many others are always trying to reinvent the wheel, capcom had money on the table and people yelling to take it] they put all of their eggs in the wrong baskets.

last year capcom announced they had 150+ million in the bank. for a new years resolution, they said they would try to listen to their fans, and now the company is open to buyout.

three’s is a fun game. as is ridiculous fishing, and color sheep.
      they’re all great on mobile.

but street fighter? capcom there is a 3ds and a vita right here. make something for these platforms correctly and i’d gladly give you 40 today as opposed to the 3 you won’t get for that ftp

“What little we know of the game is that it’ll be on mobile” – That’s all I need to know..

    • Ecchitori-san

      That’s what I don’t want to know.

      • J_Joestar

it is important to know, now you wont needlessly get hyped just to be disappointed later.

  • magicalfollower

    Region Block incoming…

Who are they trying to target with a mobile SFIV game…. I mean SFIV has been out since 2008… the only people who are interested in it anymore are hardcore fighting game fans… Yeah some people who aren’t hardcore fighting game fans might have a go and say “oh yeah that was fun but i’m bored now” but the majority of people will just rage because mobile is a useless platform for SF games. Capcom dig themselves into some massive holes which is a real shame cause I LOVE Streetfighter and many of Capcom’s other IP’s. I guess this is why they are being bought out. Lets hope a company who appreciates how much more can be done with Capcom’s IP’s buys them.
