Toukiden Extreme Adds More Customizable Options For Battle

By Sato . July 1, 2014 . 12:28pm

With new co-op moves, weapons, female cat Oni, and a bunch of others, Toukiden Extreme sounds like it has a lot of additions contained within. This week’s Famitsu shares a few details on a new Mitama system.

For those unfamiliar with Toukiden’s Mitama system, the game includes a set of skills featuring various Japanese figures or deities from Ancient Japan to the Bakumatsu. They come in different types that go with different play styles.

While skills were always restricted to what’s included with the Mitama, Toukiden Extreme allows players to freely switch around different skills on the Mitama, giving them more options to mix and match with abilities.

So that gives you more options, where the first game might’ve had some Mitama that had the abilities you wanted but not the right skills.

Toukiden Extreme is slated for release in Japan on August 28, 2014 for PlayStation Vita and PSP.

I feel like this reduces the amount of strategic planning If you can freely move around skills on the mitamas. really waht’s the point of having so many mitamas if the skills can be moved around so much? A lot of them have overlapping skills but different combinations.

well the explanation is still quite vague for me.. maybe you need to have unlocked / or farmed for the passive skills that you want

it does say ‘switch’ but that’s all the clue we have for now..

There are “set bonus” for mitamas related to each other, like relation to each other historically.

Completly agree, id rather their be less mitamas and more focus on stats if each one can of them can be manipulated.

I guess that means it’s time to start choosing my Mitama’s based on looks……Not that i already wasn’t doing that XD

    • girls are so beautiful there

I think this would be more interesting if there were just more than four skills for each type of Mitama.
