Lost Dimension Shows Off More Abilities From Members Of S.E.A.L.E.D.

In Lost Dimension, it’ll be up to the group of psychic youths called S.E.A.L.E.D. to stop The End from destroying the world in 13 days. Each member has their own special ability, and the latest video demonstrates those of Mana, Marco, and George.

Mana Kawai has the psychic ability called Accelerate, which goes hand-in-hand with her martial arts fighting style used to beat enemies to a pulp. The video shows her activating her “Ultimate Mode,” when she glows purple and destroys all the bad guys in vicinity.

Marco Barbato seems to be more on the timid side as far as personality goes, but he can use his Telekinesis ability to pick up enemies and crush them at will, which sounds like it’d be a nice ability to go with his handgun weapon to attack from a distance.

Finally, the katana-wielding George Jackman has the ability of Psychometry, which can be used to take abilities from others. The video shows him using some sort of freezing ability to stop an enemy and finishes it off with a swift slash.

The abilities, called Gifts, all have their own skill trees, which can branch out to more powerful varieties and even evolve into their stronger forms, and it looks like you’ll be able to customize them according to your playstyle and how you see fit.

Lost Dimension is slated for release in Japan on August 7, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, with pre-orders including extra costumes and an additional quest.

That George guy is totally ARE YOU READY GUYS? PUT YA GUNS ON!

But wow, the ingame visuals looks pretty nice.

    • I dunno about the aesthetic. It seems kinda… I dunno, bland-ish to me? I’ve never been a big fan of more realistic-looking anime styles, so it could just be that. I guess I just prefer games that “pop” more. :/

I usually prefer more colorful games as well. I guess this game going for a more of a sci-fi feel fits this style too though.

        • Eh, could be worse. They could have everyone wearing various shades of black and adopt the Call of Duty school of Grey and Brown color schemes like FF13Vs—er, I mean “FF15” chose to do.

Still, I can’t quite place my exact issue with this art direction – it just seems all… “background” to me.

I don’t really get what you mean.
The backgroung are kinda bland (I guess it makes sense given the context, bbut still).
The characters all looks cool and distinctive enough though. And the VA so far are doing a really good job so far (Yes, George is pretty great).

Not really my favourite either, but not game breaking either.

          • Er, it’s hard exactly to put how I feel about this into words. I guess it’s that the characters themselves seem to fell like they’re still a part of the background, despite being in the foreground (or at least to me). I’m pretty sure it’s just the art style being disagreeable with my tastes, though. Bottom line, this is a game, and gameplay is what will make or break it. We’ll see how it works in the end.
