Lost Dimension Has Players Do Psychic Detective Work To Discover A Traitor

While climbing up the mysterious pillar to stop The End from destroying the world, you’ll need to erase allies in order to continue going up. The game’s latest trailer shows how that’s done, along with a look at the protagonist Sho Kasugai’s ability to look into the future.

Sho’s Gift, called Vision, helps him look into the future, which will be used for hints on finding the traitor of the group. This ability is activated after every battle, and you can see if there was a possible traitor in the group of characters from the mission.

As shown in the video, you can flip through various groups to activate the “Deep Vision” part, that lets you take a closer look into their thoughts, to see whether they could’ve been the traitor.

However, the Deep Vision ability is also limited on how many times it can be used, so it’ll be important to make sure you get it down right. Additionally, you can question different members of S.E.A.L.E.D. to see their reactions and how they answer the question.

During the Judgment phase, the crew will need to decide who gets erased. At this point, it’s best to pick the traitor, but if things don’t go as planned, an innocent member can also be wrongfully killed.

While we still don’t know what happens if you keep guessing the right or wrong “traitor” on each judgment phase, it’ll likely have an effect on how things unfold in the story of the game, along with the relationship between the members of S.E.A.L.E.D.

Lost Dimension is slated for release on August 7, 2014 in Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

  • And this is coming Stateside when?

    • I hope that it is. It looks positively wonderful. It’s very different, and imaginative. I would love to see something like this come to the west.

  • michel

It would be great if, for every new game you start, the traitor changes randomly, with slightly different plots developing accordingly.

  • JohnNiles

Huh? Sounds like there’s more than one traitor. That’s going to make mission meetings awkward…

  • Kornelious

Man, this game is really gonna test your bond’s and detective-ing skills….I LOVE IT! :D

  • I love how the Judgement Phase works. Really cool going through everyone’s thoughts and comments like that to reach a conclusion.

  • So basically, the core concept is sci-fi Danganronpa.

    • Personally I think it looks like a mix of both Danganronpa and Valkyria Chronicles with some sci-fi elements mixed in, but that’s just my opinion.

      • God

I think it’s more like Xcom than Valkyria Chronicles.

        • God? Your here too? xD

          • God
