Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Sequel Gets The Green Light

Recommended Videos

It’s been a few months since Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment was released in Japan, and it seems to have done quite well, as a sequel is already in the plans according to this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Game Jouhou].

During an interview with producer Yosuke Futami and Sword Art Online author Reki Kawahara, Famitsu mentioned that Futami previously stated that if Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment sells more than the previous game, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment on PSP, a sequel for the Vita game would be possible.

Now that Hollow Fragment has already outsold the PSP game, Futami revealed “I’m thinking about setting up plans for the sequel.”

More details on a new Sword Art Online game should be revealed in the near future. Meanwhile, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be released in North America on August 19, and Europe on August 20, 2014.
