Why are games now adays jsut copy paste mechanics anyway. Don’t get me wrong I like the idea, it just that is the game industry(no pun intended) running out of ideas?

    • darke

      Because people are lazy.

It’s much easier to sell something as “X plus Y meets Z”: “Call of Duty plus My Little Pony meets Minecraft”, “Harvest Moon plus Resident Evil meets Dead Island” and so forth.

Except in this sort of JRPG where everything is character driven things get a little more odd, where since people are buying it for the character interaction, it’s better to have a ‘fresh’ (for the series), solid gameplay mechanic over actual creativity, so you get “Senren Kagura plus *Warriors meets Neptune”. :P

      • Armageddon

Yeah, thats what I like about JRPG games they are more story driven hehehe.

Note this looks like dynasty warriors + neptunia to me.

        Forgive the rant.
I guess the staleness is getting to me.

As said many times, most gamers hate change(deny it as they might). Its not that the game industry is running out of idea’s it’s just if they change a certain genre/series of a game to much, the people would hate it…
      I mean look at FF15.
They are trying something new and every FF fan is bitching like crazy. Look at sonic series, they are trying some new things as well and guess what? the fans are bitching. And you know whats funny?
People complain about a game being the same and yet if the developers try to change it, the gamers complain about it being different.

      • Armageddon

Ironic. I just might quit playing games if thats the case. Thank God there are games that are actually fun one in a while.

On another note: I like FF15’s gameplay it looks fun :D hope they put a few optional bosses, you know like omega in ff8.
I need to buy a ps4 for this.
        That leviathan…

Yo avid Sonic and Final Fantasy fan here. I’m extremely looking forward to XV and the Sonic Boom series. I wish you were wrong about both fanbases but unfortunately they’re both the reason video game fanbase stereotypes exist. For the longest time I’ve been wishing Sega would finally focus on more characters not named Sonic and for them to bring back the style of co-op and when they finally do people want to bitch about design changes are how it’s not the exactly like the original games. I hope that Sega doesn’t listen to these people and continue trying new things. Double for Final Fantasy.

Pok√©mon is a better example, that’s where the Nostalgia Goggles Masters lies and they use that very ability to it’s full potential.

    • Duo Maxwell

It’s like you have never played any of Final Fantasy clones back in the days.

It’s just that there are less and less amount of games being made, and the cost is raising while the price is still staying the same after all those years. Back in the day a SNES game cost me $60, and now? It’s still stay at $60 while everything is in inflation. Obviously developer will less likely to take risk, but that doesn’t mean all games are copy paste of each other.

      • Armageddon

Probably not since FF is the only jrpg I played that is turn based. Most games I play are hack and slash.

  • Kornelious

This is definently gonna be lots of fun, Hopefully NISA will pick it up instead of !f for some LE glory! :D

  • s07195

    Dengekiko is cuuuute.

  • DyLaN

System page is updated w/h town gameplay.

The Gakuen Handsome crossover is also updated.

  • Xinen

This looks awesome! I always thought those two would make cool pc’s, neat to see them finally get some love.
