Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s Flagship Monster Has A Name

By Sato . July 15, 2014 . 2:05pm

We’ve already seen this bad boy twice before in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s latest trailer and cover art. This week’s Jump magazine reveals the monster’s name and a few of its characteristics. [Thanks, @Kazu4281].

The flagship monster is officially named the “Thousand Blade Dragon, Serlegios (セルレギオス or Serulegiosu)” and he’s a powerful gold-scaled monster that goes around destroying lands using its sturdy legs.

It also has long claws to go with its characteristically long horn, that looks like it could do quite the damage should it hit a Hunter.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is slated for release in Japan on October 11, 2014, and in the West in early 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

“Sir Leg-ios” destroying lands using its sturdy legs. It’s a Monster ‘Pun’ter. Oh what have I done.

    • Don’t worry about it. Someone would’ve said it eventually. I know I was thinking the same thing. xD

  • J_Joestar

    still kinda prefer “Steve”

    • Kroz

it will always be Steve to me

    • Namuro

That can be the localized name.

    • Serulegiosu…Steve…something tells me the localisation team already knew the monster and had an idea of what they wanted to localise it’s name to when they said that…

  • When I read his name I could hear a song similar to Sephiroth’s in my head XD

  • ronin4life

Did anyone read it like “Sir Leg-ios”?
    And then think “Sir Legolas”?

    • 하세요

      Sir Leggy-O’s

  • lel

so unlike rajang, he doesnt skip leg day.

  • Guest

Pinecone head would be more appropriate.

  • Namuro

    That’s a really cool name!

“Thousand Blade Dragon”, huh? They’re probably natives of the Thousand Blade Mountain, then.

In fact, could it be because of these guys that the place looks all torn apart? Well, probably a combination of these guys and Amadyura…
