Square Enix will release Dragon Quest X for Nintendo 3DS in a retail package, but this doesn’t actually include a cartridge like the Wii or Wii U versions.

image If you purchase Dragon Quest X in stores you’ll get a code to download the game from the Nintendo eShop, a voucher good for 60 days of online play, a poster, and a Lemon Slime Board Prism pictured above. Players need to get a Dollboard first and then go to the Dollboard customization shop to change it into the Lemon Slime design.

Users also get five Large Experience Point Ancient Documents that instantly give players 1,000 experience points for each item when they are used and a Casino Coin ticket redeemable for 1,000 Casino Coins. A lottery card is also included that will give players items like 100 mini-medals, Dollserine fuel for your Dollboard, or MP recovering water.

Dragon Quest X for Nintendo 3DS comes out on September 4 in Japan.

I thought it was a real segway they’re giving away, and not one in the game at first. LOL

    • Nan

lol I was imagining like a 1/12 scale segway!

      • darke

I thought it was a 1/12 scale segway model being ridden by a slime and was confused. :?

    • That would have been amazing. Lol

I am actualy suprised that foolish Square Enix after massive backlash in EU tries to do it one more time.

They did exactly the same thing with Drakengard 3 in Europe… they released collector edition with digital only game… people were mad at them! Every thread on blog was filled with please for retail edition and not for collector edition with digital game.

And what’s even worse than that… few people actualy bought it but the game was so buggy that it didn’t allow people to have fun with content the owned… and they couldn’t fix it for OVER A MONTH just because it took “a long time to upload whole game and test it”… people got really really mad…

So to anyone thinking about buying it… I would say don’t buy it on first day… wait a month see if there are any bugs first… if there won’t be buy it if you really really want

I used to think this was more a thing indie games used to do, with commemorative game cases with a code inside. Kind of perturbing that such a mainstream game works this way now. Though it makes sense as an MMO title..

    • brian

      Patapon 2 did it iirc.

  • Go2hell66

Its drakengard 3 all over again…

    • Keiji Johnson

      Really? How so?

      • Go2hell66

the colllectors edition had no disc

        • Weeb

Whoa really? Kinda glad I didn’t pick it up then.

        • AuraGuyChris

          Real men don’t need discs!

        • Wh-why would the collectors edition of all things not have a disc? What?

        • Keiji Johnson

Seriously? Well now that I think about it, Forza Motorsport 5 had a collector’s edition as well. That one sold for about $200 I think and that one didn’t even have the game in any format. It doesn’t even have a download code or even the case for the game with a download code in it. And that was released here in North America.

      • Vanadise

I don’t know what region he’s talking about, but the USA Drakengard 3 Collector’s Edition definitely had a disc.

Honestly, I kinda prefer for collector’s editions to *not* include a physical copy of the game, because then I could choose whether I want to buy the physical copy or get the digital version.

    Lemon Slime Board Prism…
Now that I’ve seen this, I can die happily.

…I just need to see a magical slime girl hop on it before.

  • wahyudil

full download … what is the size of it? I am afraid with my limited 32gb SD card

    • triablos

The game is streamed not downloaded. Kinda like YouTube videos if that makes sense

  • revenent hell

Ewwwww, there’s just something really awkward in buying a game and not getting a card for it, in this case since that’s what 3DS games are released on in physical form.
This trend is not a good or promising one….. Though if this game comes around in this form I cant say I wouldn’t buy it. Attributing to cause :(

  • Rafael Budzinski

…well, the game’s going to be streamed to the 3DS, so, it’s quite expected…

  • Guest

“Segue” I think it is, common misspelling though, no biggie.

    • Nan

      lmao is that a joke

  • Godspoken

It’s not like a cart would do much good, since it’s streamed and not actually played on your 3DS.
