Wow, I’ve never heard of this, but the fusion of Mega Manesque platforming and Gradius-ish powerups seems right up my alley! Hopefully the US release isn’t too far off. Between this, Umihara Kawase/Yumi’s Odd Odyssey, and Gunvolt, eShop seems to be home to some of the cooler 3DS stuff this year…

  • Looks adorable! An awesome, classic-style action-platformer! It looks great, but it’s a bit unexciting since western indie devs seem able to pump out games of this quality a lot these days. And on platforms that are better than handhelds. I mean, I’ve had this for quite awhile and it seems to feature very similar run-n-gun gameplay (though with perhaps less of a focus on action and more balanced on platforming a bit):

Dark Witch here has much better tunes though, and that versus mode… but you can’t expect much in the way of modes/extra content when Akane is $2.99 on Steam :P

Still though, it’s great to see more Japanese indie games! They have a lot of catching up to do with the indie scene elsewhere in the world, so I’m always happy to see quality games. If this comes out here, I’ll pick it up :D

that looks pretty interest. on steam i assume?

      • British_Otaku

Yep, the comment above said it was on Steam.
Judging from Jim Sterling’s initial playthrough, the sound design is pretty atrocious before any other criticism anyone may throw at it:

  • Namuro

Hey, this looks pretty nice! I really dig the characters, too.

    Also, Ryuuko cameo! LOL

  • zferolie

Oh wow this is great news. I saw the trailer yesterday and hoped it was coming out west. It seems to be a nice combination of platformer and SHMUP

  • biskmater

Why does this remind me of some “ryona” games?

  • tvrsteve

Is the composer’s name officially Light or Raito? Either way, the UNiB soundtrack is god-tier and this sounds neat as well. Definitely a fan of their music.

  • Afternoon Intergalactic

I’m playing the crap out of UNIEL right now and am loving the soundtrack. Might have to look into this some more.

  • Reki Honoo

This game looks really fun. Now if we could get gaist crusher over here, so I can see more of the character designs the gaist crusher character designer did

  • WyattEpp

Contra Force called; said it approves of this product and/or service.

  • Göran Isacson

Heh, some of those boss designs look kiiinda familiar. Sayaka and Ryoko look like they’re taking on a slightly smaller budget/profile project after their big successes…
