Bravely Second’s Magnolia Figure Comes With A DLC Code For The Game

By Sato . August 5, 2014 . 1:32pm

Bravely Second isn’t even out yet, but that didn’t stop Square Enix from showing off a prototype figure of the game’s protagonist, Magnolia Arch. Dengeki shows us a look at the new figure in its complete form, and it’s looking pretty sweet.

The Bravely Second Magnolia figure stands at 240mm (9.45 inches) tall, a width of 225mm (8.86 inches,) and a depth of 145mm (5.7 inches). The figure was made with the idea of a “rabbit” in mind.

Additionally, Dengeki reports that the figure will also go on sale as part of a campaign with a DLC code for Bravely Second which will be included with the figure. There aren’t any details as far as what the DLC code is about, but this will be revealed in the near future.

The Magnolia 1/8 scale figure will be available in March 2015, for 10,800 yen (about $105.69) plus tax.

    Those gams!! *Faint*

    • Namuro

Hey, I just learned that word the other day! It’s true, once you learned a new word, you’ll start seeing it everywhere!

      • Land of Green Pasture

And I just learnt it from AuraGuy.. now this will be a goood good word..

    • AuraGuyChris

      *Looks up dictionary*

So, it’s basically another way to say “female leg”.

  • antithesis

Figure looks nice. But 10,800 Yen is a little too much. Sweet spot is around 8000 Yen.

    • Guest

how much is that in dollars?

      • Godman

        ’bout $80

      • antithesis

        100 Yen is about $1.

  • Kornelious

…..Don’t even know if we’ll like the character yet, but whatever sells I guess :P

  • Buitronthecrazy .

    105 dollars…that is like 250 “soles”…
sigh…there goes my hopes of getting this…

  • Namuro

    What a lovely figure!

  • *looks at face closely first thing*

    Yes…. Yesss….

    It’s nothing like….. THAT figure

    • AuraGuyChris

Oh yes. I was ALSO looking at her face. While it doesn’t resemble the one in the artwork that much, it’s still nice.

      Not like…THAT.

    • Princess_Eevee9

What… what is that horrendous monstrosity?

      • Quizler

Part of the EU collectors edition IIRC, NA was fortunate that they didn’t get it.

        • Princess_Eevee9

Never have I thought I’d be so lucky to miss out on freebies.ono

    • Ni ~Algidus~

      the hell is that?

    • Smooosh

Is it weird that I feel bad whenever I see that figure? :V
      It’s so… sad

    • SMT

      Thank god I didn’t get that CE…

It’s like she’s begging us to put her out of her misery.

      • Ric Vazquez

    • triablos

      That’s actually kinda scary

    • Tom

I almost bought the limited edition but thankfully I didn’t. A custom 3D printed figure looks waaay better.–OtnXDb7z–/18nqvrqso98w2png.png

      • God

I really need to get my hands on a 3-D printer…

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      so cheeeep

    • DyLaN

    • “This isn’t even my final form!”

      I guess you could say…
      … it’s unnacceptable.

  • kylehyde

I can’t see the code, but the last pic has give me an idea about the whereabouts of this code. I guess I have to lift something to see the code

  • SetzerGabbiani

  • Kaetsu

    Dem legs!

  • Kayriss Wins

Looks WAY better than that poor excuse for a figure they made out of Agnes.

  • Quizler

Oh, I thought it meant you would get the game for free…

  • SobriK

It could be the perspective, but her left foot looks like it’s about three feet long. The rest of the figure is pretty great (leagues ahead of derpy ‘ol Agnes) but the more I look at the left foot, the more I’ve convinced that she has an extra joint between her knee and her ankle.

    • antithesis

It looks like she’s wearing some kind of special footwear that extends her leg.

      • SobriK

Yeah, I guess I can see that? It looks like her boots have some metal frame to the bottom of them… but I think they took the “rabbit” theme a bit too literally.

  • Arcade Bumstead

Her legs are fucked up. It looks like they made the base first and stretched her to fit

    • exrazer

      At least the face

  • Jero

When I first saw it I thought it was a fan art actually…

  • Souffrir

Wait. A Square Enix figurine with well-sculpted hair and a well-sculpted face? What?

    • Revyatheworldeater .

Well… they might just be showing the prototype. When it comes in the mail to people who bought it there might be a repeat of the Agnes figure.

  • Woulda been more interesting if it came with the game. But hey, that statue figure looks pretty darn cool :)

    • Ferofax

The game comes with the figure.

  • murinto

That was fast, the game isn’t even close to being released, and very little info is out there. It feels kind of tacky to me, for them to be doing this. ESPECIALLY AT 100 BUCKS.

    • Revyatheworldeater .

That’s actually on par for how much figures like these cost. Well, usually for ones that come from the better figure companies.

      • murinto

Yeah, I buy tons of figures too. Thing is like you said, “better figure companies”. This isn’t a better figure company, and it’s a figure for a character from a game that’s not even out anytime soon.

  • Ric Vazquez

It would be better if it was part of a collector’s edition methinks.

Edit: Them legs though mjm mjm

  • Radprofile

Oh my, I want to have that figure, mainly because is a character I don’t know anything about !

  • Kamakuma
  • Nessz

I have little to no knowledge on figurines. Never liked them and never felt the need to buy one….until now. So how exactly do people buy these if they are only from Japan?

    • PotatoPower

there are many sites that are english-friendly and handle imports

    • Xerain

Most figure enthusiasts buy them from Amiami or HobbySearch. Amiami usually gives a nice 17%ish discount on preorders.

On many of the sites you will be charged in yen… and your bank just converts it for you automatically. They usually charge about 2% of the value of the purchase for this, unless you’re using a travel card, as those often have no currency conversion fees. (That’s kind of the point of them.)

Using import sites sites is just like buying anything on any other site. You just need to be prepared to pay a bare minimum of $8-$10 for shipping, and always factor the shipping budget to be a little higher than expected. US has no costumes worries or charges on figures from Japan, other countries vary.

SAL (Secure Air Lift) is the most economical shipping. There are some shipping methods that are technically cheaper, but I wouldn’t recommend them. If you are in the US expect your package in 1.5 to 3 weeks. I did have one take almost three months to arrive this one time. There’s no tracking on SAL, but if you add little bit extra you can do registered SAL, which requires a signature on delivery, and expands the tracking options for the postal service, though you can’t check it yourself. Registered SAL is my preferred shipping method.

Next most expensive is First Class Air mail, then EMS (Express Mail Service.) EMS usually costs around $30, but you can expect you package in 3-5 days, which is pretty crazy. I use EMS occasionally as I’ve never had any problems with SAL, but others swear by it. it depends on which country you live in, as for some SAL can take forever, if it even arrives.

FedEx also offers service from many of these sites, and if you’re willing to pay they can get it to you even faster than EMS.

      • Nessz

Thank you very much for this info. n_n

      • Revyatheworldeater .

I have been using Crunchy roll a good bit lately. Free shipping over 75 USD and they usually go on discount. Only problem is that they are presales as opposed to preorder so they charge at the time of order.

        • Xerain

I’d rather pay $55 with $10 shipping than $75 with Free shipping. Crunchy Roll’s prices are almost as bad as JList’s.

Playasia’s not too hot these days either.

          • Revyatheworldeater .

Depends, Crunchyroll does some decent sales but they are kind of whatever they decide and turn over daily.

    • Shippoyasha

If push comes to shove, you can always e-mail the Japanese stores directly and see if they accept payment and ship overseas. You won’t have to do that with most popular figurines. Only hardcore nutbags have to deal with that.

  • Xerain

For the first game the DLC codes were actually “generic” and let you choose one from any of the promo costumes. Since there is no costume specicified, it would seem they are going this route again?

    • Max

That was only for ”For the Sequel”.
The first game had very specific campaigns for each costume.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Well at lest the figure is cheaply made like the last one >_>

  • Something about her legs look a little off, and I’m starting to notice what they mean by “rabbit”.

  • -Misaki-

Wish the game had this art and not chibi. That’s probably just me though.

  • Colourless

Does she have digitigrade legs or is that just really weird design?
