This Cheap Priced Robot Game For 3DS Packs 100 Levels To Clear Through

Japan’s Simple Series isn’t all about escape-adventure titles. There’s also plenty of fun and cheap gems that pop up such as the latest title, Simple DL Series Vol 32: The Battle Robo: The Great United Front Scramble.

The budget game is just 520 yen (US$5) on the Nintendo 3DS eShop but has a good chunk of content, starting with some 100 stages to complete. You pilot a mech into combat in real-time against multiple enemy robots on 3D stages.

There are three different base frames of robots to choose from: Balanced, Power and Speed. You can guess what each does. These can then be kitted out with one of seven different classes of weapons. When the special meter is filled, you can also blast out with a special attack different for each weapon type.

If you finish off normal mode, you can also take on additional challenges such as a beam sabers swords only-mode. There’s even a survival mode where you’ve only got one life to make it through all 100 stages! It also has local multiplayer for up to four players.

Simple DL Series Vol. 32: The Battle Robo: The Great United Front Scramble is available now on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

    gotta buy this.

  • Jake Cline

Looks like custom robo! PLEASE LOCALIZE! :I

    • MrOrpheus

Please don’t make me think of Custom Robo. There are so many cool things that could be done with that series on either 3DS or Wii U, and none of them will ever exist. That makes me sad.

Why will none of them ever exist?

        • MrOrpheus

In their current state, I can’t really imagine a future in which Nintendo dedicates resources to publishing a game like Custom Robo. That may be overly cynical, but I would be darned surprised if, say, we got another F-Zero, and Custom Robo is much more obscure than even that.

True enough…Makes me wonder if showing Reggie Custom Robo would increase our chances. [/wishful thinking]

I wish the NA eShop had fun cheap titles like this… Gunman Clive is the only not-trash one I can think of.

  • Gigaknight

Looks like a pretty cool game.

Too bad even this will probably stay in Japan–like SRW, Custom Robo, and Medabots.

      I miss Medabots. ; (
