Bandai Namco Is Making An Avengers Game With Spider-Man In It

By Spencer . August 11, 2014 . 10:46pm

Bandai Namco has been working closely with Disney in Japan. They published Disney Infinity and created the original 3DS game, Disney Magical World which Nintendo published in the West. Now, they’re working with the Marvel characters with Disk Wars Avengers: Ultimate Heroes.

Disk Wars Avengers: Ultimate Heroes is based on the Toei Animation series Marvel Disk Wars. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Wasp, and Spider-Man are playable characters. Players can swap character by tapping icons on the touch screen. The game has an original story in Story Mode, Challenge Mode (with Survival and Free Battle options), and a Gallery Mode.

  • Interesting. This is the second major collaboration between Disney and Namco over the last two years. The previous one was Disney Magical World, which Namco developed/published in Japan. That game did super well, too.

    • Spider-Man

They better release this game in the West for Mary Jane’s sake…

      • SakuStar Light

probably i hear the anime will have a dub coming next year on Disney.

  • landlock

I was sort of excited until I noticed it was based no the Pokemon Avengers show.

    • Vash bane

its like pokemon? the…. lol really? I heard of disk wars a few weeks ago but don’t have enough time to watch a episode (also because I keep forgetting)

      • landlock

Basically the heroes like Iron Man, The Hulk and Captain America end getting locked up in “disks” and the human characters can summon them when they are needed.

I stopped watching after a few episodes because the personalities of some of the heroes are well off from what I use to.

        Certainly it wasn’t for me.

        • SakuStar Light

adding to this comment. The Main hero have 5 minutes to use the Marvel Heros as for the Villian human can use there Warriors for a long time. Plus it seems the Marvel heros always get there ass kicked until a major turning point. It makes you feel like your watching pokemon cause they have to look for the disc scattered around the world.

          • Princess_Eevee9

            Seriously? That sounds… unique?

          • SakuStar Light

hmm more like Monster Rancher/Pokemon u know look for the disc use there power also they communicate in the disc via hologram also it seems like the Marvel Hero are frozen in a time capsule inside the disc so they don’t need to eat or drink water or anything else cause there body go through a type of stasis if you were wondering plus there something going on with shield as well and Spiderman is one of the few last remaining active heros apparently in this story.

        • WhyWai

at least check it out for Anime Hulk *wink*

        • John Diamond

the kids are also very cookie cutter

      • Marcelo GouvĂȘa

Do keep in mind that this show is made to introduce Japanese kids to the Marvel Universe — kids from an entirely different culture who haven’t grown up with the comics and haven’t watched the related cartoons (and considering Avengers Assemble, that’s a blessing…). It basically takes the Marvel mythos and place them in a very ‘mon setting. I find it enjoyable, as long as you know what to expect — and I’m even impressed with some stuff the anime is doing well, like parallelling Captain America’s treatment of his “Digidestined” with his feelings of loss for Bucky. It’s a silly ‘mon show, but it’s a fun silly ‘mon show.

      • Brion Valkerion

Lol all the replies are weird… naming every monster show except the one that its clearly based off of and animated by the same team as… its more related to Digimon than anything. All the animation is clearly the same team and the basic flow of the show is the same. Its the typical kids “collectible game” type of show for marketing but it nails the characters more than Japan’s serious attempt at Marvel a few years ago. But still way off base for the more mature audience.

Honestly the whole point is to sell merch in real life and make heroes outside of Marvel’s movies well known.

  • Tenabrus

I wish this would come to the states, it’s about time we get a good console/pc avengers experience

    • 3PointDecoupage

Theres no way this wont be released stateside.

    • Spider-Man

It will, or I’ll have to give Gwen Stacy a tour of the Brooklyn Bridge.

      • 3PointDecoupage

        Thats in poor taste, Spiderman.

      • LOLZ thats a good one

  • Namuro

I heard “Disco Wars Avengers”. LOL

    Let’s boogie!

    • Princess_Eevee9

Damn I had to go and check the title again.

  • Should’ve seen what Dr. Octopus and Juggernaut looked like in the anime.

  • OlimacFTW

Well, technically Spiderman is a member of Avengers.

  • HarakiriKami

    Look’s good

  • Codename: D.A.V.I.D.

What–? GREAT! I love Disk Wars :D
(Edit: Due my exciment I completely forgot about region-lock :P )

  • Mastery

They should make and Avengers RPG that uses the LMBS like they did with Keroro and Kamen Rider

    I can dream, alright?

  • Joshua Lewis

I actually really liked this show! the plot is kinda dark, but its really like digimon combined with power rangers/kamen rider
