The Explorers Art Works art book includes an illustration drawn by Yoshitaka Amano, key art from Toshiyuki Itahana, and summoned monsters drawn by Gen Kobayashi. Square Enix also included the first print bonus, a special quest where you can get Final Fantasy III’s Onion Knight equipment. There are four pieces of Onion Knight equipment – the Onion Sword, Onion Helm, Onion Armor, and Onion Boots.

Are JP limited editions usually that price? Because 14040 yen is $135, which seems quite expensive

    • syrup

It’s on the expensive side. JP limited editions are usually around ~$100 USD for 3DS games. The regular game is $60. Honestly all the limited stuff doesn’t look like it’s worth ~$80 extra. Disappointing for the price.

    I need this game now

The graphics look kinda eh in some of these screenshots especially that leopard thing. I know people are gonna be all like “b-b-but it looks better in person” but I’m on my phone (so not really blown up images)and most screenshots look about the same as a real 3ds screen.

Luckily I’m a gameplay first guy though! :D

    • Tincho Kudos

I agree with you. For being a SE game, let alone a FF game this looks kinda bland. Then again the gameplay does look good, so I don’t care much about graphics but I’d love to see a game taking 3DS to its full potential

I think the problem with the leopard screenshot is that the character models look too bright compared to the background. But hopefully, that’s probably because it got shot in an awkward moment, the lighting probably came from the flash from the player character’s attack.

But that doesn’t matter, Ifrit’s abs look great.

The leopard model looks like it’d look bad even on a PS1 game. Ifrit does look cool though so maybe it was just an awkward moment.

  • I want a Fantasy life bundle, please!

  • Lastlight

Looks like the dissidia version of Onion knight

Limited edition looks awesome! *read exclusive to e-store* *sigh*

-Squints at the price and converts it-

      140 USD?!

  • This game is going to be like Monster Hunter just FF style right?

    • triablos

As in a weighted combat action game requiring planning, resource-collecting and behaviour-studying, where making armours and weapons out of monsters you kill is half the game, while the other half is fighting big monsters?

I honestly don’t know where all this “its got the words ‘4 player’ and ‘quests’ in it, therefore its Monster Hunter!” Thing is coming from. Even One Piece UWRed was called monster hunter and its faaaaaaaaaaaaàr from it. FFE just looks like an action RPG.

A game, a cd, a sticky cover, an artbook, a case, and some digital swag are not worth almost the same price as the system itself.

I had more from Catherine and that was like around 80 or so.
