Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War is loosely (very loosely) based on the Hundred Years War with Joan of Arc and John Talbot in the game. Koei Tecmo Games is working on an enhanced version called Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War & Nightmare and the "Nightmare" is filled with fantasy monsters.

Famitsu reports the newly made Nightmare takes place in a fantasy world with monsters like goblins, cyclopes, and dragons to fight. In Nightmare mode players will be able to use a monster army too.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War & Nightmare is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3. The game is scheduled to come out sometime in 2014 in Japan.

    Why am I not surprised?

The original Bladestorm is my favorite Dynasty Warriors-type game. I hope they release this outside Japan too.

Bladestorm original was a highly underrated game. Hoping this expansion will give the boost it needs. :D

Now if only Koei-Temco can convince Miura to include Guts from Berserk.

I’d love it if Koei would make Warriors games out of even more historical conflicts.

Here’s one: The American Revolution! Have George Washington as a hulking fighter with a giant axe who can bite through defenses with his ivory teeth, Ben Franklin as a bespectacled bishonen who attacks with an electrified bladed kite, and King George as a flamboyant but vicious dual-rapier wielder voiced by Sam Riegel.
