Here’s A Look At Different Protagonists Meeting In Tales of the World

We’ve seen what happens when opposite personalities met up in Bandai Namco’s previous set of videos from Tales of the World: Reve Unitia. This time, we have the proper Estellise from Vesperia meeting the blunt Spada from Tales of Innocence.

In this first video, Tales of Legendia protagonist Senel Coolidge is shown having a brief conversation with the protagonist of Tales of the Tempest, Caius Qualls, as he asks him how his transformation works.

Caius doesn’t understand it too well, which he says could be due to the fact that they no longer have memories of the past. After apologizing about the sudden question, Senel explains that he doesn’t remember anything either, but he has faint memories of someone similar to Caius.

While he says that it might not be certain, it seems like it could be a trigger to bringing back more of his past. The intrigued Caius asks him to share more if anything else comes to mind, so it seems like the communication among the characters could be a key to bringing back fragments of their memories.

The next video shows Tales of Vesperia heroine Estellise Sidos Heurassein and Tales of Innocence’s Spada Belforma. It looks like Spada saves Estellise after she dropped her weapon, and he tells the “ojou-sama” to stay alert.

[Note: in Japanese, calling someone “ojou-sama” is often used to address the daughter or girl of an upper-class family.]

She is then shown wanting to ask him something, but seems to hestitate, which prompts Spada to tell her to speak more clearly. She ends up asking him, “am I really an ojou-sama?” to which Spada responds in surprise saying something along the lines of: “Wha-? No matter how you look at it, you’re a prim-and-proper lady! You even speak like one.”

After she asks the question again, Spada says that he can’t pinpoint why, but he just knows that she’s that way, and a hardcore one, too. She then asks if that means that she’s different from everyone, and Spada says that’s not what he said, and reprimands her for her lack of focus.

Tales of the World: Reve Unitia will be released in Japan on October 23, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.

    Seriously, localize this.

  • ALfromHELLSING

Every time I see thumbnail with Reve Unitia I’m hoping it’s an English localization news, but every time it’s not.

It prob won’t be considering the popularity of Tales spin-offs in the west. I mean we used patches for Totw RM2 and onwards. No Narikiri Dungeon, Tempest, Versus, Twin Brave, etc. Mothership titles are finally being released regularly again though(more like they have for a while now).

      • There is a reason why we didn’t get Tempest.

        It was awful.

        • Anthony Birken

Well, yes it was. I’d still play it regardless, but that’s due to my obsession. Other spin-offs weren’t so bad. I love the RM series.

There’s still a little chance, Tales of Hearts R is coming to Vita and obviously it won’t sell all that great but it’s still coming. This one on other hand is for 3DS. They might still sell at least 50k in NA.

        • Anthony Birken

Hopefully it does. I buy mostly any Tales that comes here (here being NA), but isn’t Hearts R a remake of a mothership title and not a spin-off?

          • Ladius

Yes, Hearts R is a remake of the eleventh mothership Tales game (and apparently a really good one, at that), but I imagine he was talking about Tales handheld games regardless of their status.

We will get it .. Hopefully we will, chances seem to be slim but who knows maybe we will get it we have BABA :P

    • Ric Vazquez

      Same here, I need it.

  • Blati. Boyu.

    Tales of Fire Emblem.

    • Spirit Macardi

Just what this crossover needs, more characters played by either Laura Bailey, Sam Riegel, or Matt Mercer x3

      • Anko Is Furious (King T.G.P)

        I love Laura Bailey *.*

        • Spirit Macardi

Me too; the woman is incredible. She could probably be cast as every single character in a show and yet manage to give each one a unique and fitting voice.

    Vesperia ps3 for NA pls?

    • artemisthemp

The West will never see the Complete Tales of Vesperia according to Hideo/Namco or well until they realize that Tales of Symphonia is older than Tales of Vesperia

  • British_Otaku

Still waiting to see gameplay and it is out in less than two weeks. I’ve only played Abyss and my Japanese is too poor for anything but “IS THIS A GOOD SRPG LIKE SD G GENERATION 3D OR ANOTHER PROJECT X WASTE OF TIME” is key.
