Tetsuya Nomura Drew Hikaru Utada With A Kingdom Hearts Spin

Recommended Videos

To commemorate the singer’s 15th anniversary since her debut, Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura drew up a special illustration for Hikaru Utada, who has contributed to the series with tracks such as “Simple and Clean” and “Sanctuary”. [Thanks, Game Jouhou]

The above image is Nomura’s completed image of Hikaru Utada, and he mentioned how he actually struggled quite a bit with its design.

However, when he plans out his work for games, he often goes with the concept of “something that will overflow your imagination about what’s ahead,” which is the same concept he went with for his illustration of Hikaru Utada.

If you look closely at the water, you can even see some of Kingdom Hearts’ motifs in there as well!
