Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth’s Trailer Recaps What The Game Is All About

Digimon fans have been looking forward to a new RPG for quite a while now, and they’ll soon get one in Japan with Digital Story: Cyber Sleuth. In anticipation of the game’s release, Bandai Namco shared a new summary trailer for the game.

The trailer starts out with an introduction of the cyber world and the existence of Digimon. They then introduce the the protagonists and key characters, followed by the mysterious creatures known as “Eaters” that feed off data of humans and Digimon.

Apparently, that’s what happened to the protagonist, as he (or she) got his data eaten by the Eaters and sent to the real world in a half-digitized state. It is then revealed that the narrator of the video is in fact Kyoko Kuremi, a bewitching beauty and an accomplished detective, who helps out the protagonist, and will help in figuring out what’s been going on.

In order for the protagonist to regain his or her body, you’ll need to use the Connect Jump feature to get into the digital world and find clues on how to do so; however, it won’t be easy as it’s filled with all kinds of Digimon.

At 2:55, we then get to see how you’ll encounter Digimon in the field and use the Digimon Scanner to scan them. Once you get a 100% scan, its converted data can then be used to create the Digimon at the lab, and then join your side as a partner.

Battles are in active time, and there’s also a compatible partner system, where certain Digimon will work better with others. You can also train them at the Digi Farm to increase their parameters. Evolving them is just another way of getting the strongest partners you’ll need to take on the cyber world. There are over 230 different Digimon you can make.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth will release in Japan on March 12, 2015 for PlayStation Vita. First print copies of the game will include a DLC code for Agumon (black) and Gabumon (black).
