    Oh lol

  • E.T.993

A Sonic smartphone game. Oh joy. Even a (non-free-to-play) NiGHTS or Fantasy Zone smartphone game would have made me happier. Or a downloadable 3DS Fantasy Zone game would be fine, too.

  • Shippoyasha

At least it’ll be almost impossible to mess up such a simple gameplay.

    • Stephen Mc Devitt

Ha ha ha! AAA companies and smartphones don’t mix.

  • Shadowman

    No. [Sigh]

  • ThomasTruong

As someone who LOVES eating popcorn, I couldn’t be happier.

  • Heartlesswithaheart

But we already have Sonic Rush. There’s no need to waste time on shovelware when it’s already out in a different name.

    • You calling Sonic Rush shovelware? >:V

      • Heartlesswithaheart

Sorry, I mean Dash. That infinite runner one for smartphones. Not the DS game.

  • kenshinx13

Big companies seriously need to stop with the mobile games.. i don’t get the appeal x.x I would never PAY for a game i only sit down and play for five minutes when i have nothing else to do (since those types of games are all i really see lately that are any fun)

    • DaiRaiOh

The japanese market likes mobile games. Can’t blame them for catering to their prime market instead of you.

      • kenshinx13

Ok, I admit my first comment was a bit narrow minded but i was not asking anyone to cater specifically to me. There are people here bashing this way worse than i have. Just voicing my opinion on mobile gaming.

  • Lloyd Christmas

Oh Sonic- what have they done to you?~

  • lozffvii

U-uhm…Hey, Sonic Team. Hey, uh, do you guys think you can fix the problems with the console Sonic games before starting on a smartphone game?
    We liked Generations.
    Can we have more Generations?

    • Either a game like Generations or improve on what Lost World started (parkour for example).

      • Stephen Mc Devitt

Sega’s too quick to throw away working mechanics for whole new ones. Sonic never gets a proper sequel these days, otherwise they would’ve been better.

        • The previous Sonic gameplay was in 3 games (Unleashed, Colors, Generations) and wisps were well received enough to be reused for Lost World.

Sega is going to be in a panic figuring out Sonic again by discarding what Lost World’s positives were. I rather they go back to what worked with Generations than to try something new if this would happen.

    • DaiRaiOh

This is why they have multiple teams

    • Souffrir

      “We liked Generations.”

      Speak for yourself.

      • Ahtma

        You didn’t like Generations?

        • Souffrir

It was fine as a modern Sonic title, but modern Sonic has long since stripped away everything I loved about the Genesis games. And yes, that goes far beyond a 2D perspective, competent physics, and a camera that doesn’t kill you every five seconds.

There’s an entire paradigm of design that was somehow lost to the Sonic team between Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic Adventure, and they’ve either never noticed or never cared. The best way that I can describe it is this: While Generations and Colors were fast and spectacular, the Genesis games were solid and deep.

          • British_Otaku

A late response, but have you given Sonic Advance 1 + 3 a look? Sonic Advance 1 in particular maintains the design of Sonic’s Genesis days without a doubt with springs even only bouncing you when you jump on them and design which invites you to learn the levels and not .

Sonic Advance 3 is amazing as well especially with the team dynamic which makes for more character builds and the huge stages which take some thought to discover pathways but it is a bit less similar to the Genesis games.

On consoles, Sonic and the Secret Rings and Black Knight more or less fill that for me as you have tons of character builds and balance your pacing and platforming much more though they are rougher and tougher sells.

    • subsamuel01

Their exclusivity deal with Nintendo is finally done, I love the Wii U but the Sonic games were terrible.

      • kaisergali

them doing bad games has nothing to do with the console but the team doing it. Sadly the state in which Sonic is has nothing to do were they publish the games.

      • Spirit Macardi

Sonic Boom may have sucked, but Lost World was pretty good. Maybe not as good as Colors or Generations, but still fun. And it had some great DLC that was all free.

    • British_Otaku

A different team is likely to be assigned to this game and mobile games take considerably less resources to make, so it is very unlikely to slow down Generations 2 or whatever you want.

  • I’m fine with this. “Sonic Dash” is one mobile game that is obvious and works and is fun. More of that is fine… or maybe this is something different? A “Canabalt”-type side scroller instead, maybe? Again, another obvious mobile game for Sonic the Hedgehog.

  • Thelastgunstar

Aren’t there already two Sonic mobile games? One is purely jumping and another is an infinite runner. Why make another?

    • Haunter!

Because people will buy it. That’s how markets work.

    • MinakoArisato

They still need a Sonic purely jumping AND infinitely running!
If you had aactually used your underdeveloped consumer-brain, which is small, because Sega says so, you might have gotten that idea too!

In other, non ironic words… Yea, its sad bit it is true, people will still pay money for this…

  • Stephen Mc Devitt

I think Sonic’s pretty much burned out of speed and logically could never walk again, let alone running at the speed of light, but Sega just won’t stop, even though they have so much more IP they haven’t touched in a while. Maybe a HD remaster of Skies of Arcadia?

Also, was making Sonic Boom over localising Yakuza 5 really worth it? Maybe as seen at the PS Experience.

P.S. Started playing Sonic ’06 and noticing why it sucks. You can’t control you’re movement when you jump at mach speed.

    • I don’t think Sonic ever gets made over something else, besides Sonic Team IPs.

    • Tatsuya1221

The problem with sonic or more precisely sega, is they had 2 formula’s that worked, the adventure and generations formula, instead of building upon those, sega is constantly trying to change it, and in the end it may just be better to kill off sonic, which is kind of sad as i was a big fan of sonic as a kid.

  • Adrian Duran

Trying to appeal to consumers that know Sonic, but don’t know all the horrible games he’s been in

    • hiromu656

      that sounds about right.

  • Tyler Beale

In other news, Sonic 4 Episode 2 has been pulled off the App Store, and Sega didn’t bother to update it to work on iOS 7/8.

  • kaisergali

Even if they get criticized for doing the same formula, I would like to see something that felt like sonic adventure 2 or even sonic heroes instead of trying to find different formulas for each game.

  • MinakoArisato

If I had a smart-phone and that game would be a homage to the very first Sonic games, 2d, 8/16bit music, simple story, if even existing, then I would pay a little for it.

  • Guest

I’m just patiently waiting for a good Sonic game on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

  • subsamuel01

Just waiting here patiently for a good Sonic game on PS4 and Xbox One.

    • PolygonFighter

Just waiting here impatiently for Shenmue III.

    • CozyAndWarm

“Just waiting here patiently for a good Sonic game at all”
      Fixed that for you

As long as we’re talking about specific systems though, Sega really blew their chances with the Wii U. Nintendo helping with the publishing and marketing along with all the media’s irrational Wii U hate meant a lot of free attention and notoriety if the Sonic games were actually good. Instead, Sega crapped out two of the worst games in the whole series’ history. What was Sega even thinking.

      • phayroent

What “media’s irrational Wii U hate?” The media reports the poor sales of the Wii U and ignorant Nintendo fanboys call it hate? Grow up and learn how the real world works, because your immature attitude of blaming everyone for the Wii U’s falter except Nintendo is why the Wii U is a commercial failure. Nintendo fans buy any crap with Nintendo’s name on it, and gives Nintendo the impression that that’s what you actually want. No one at Nintendo cares that you are stupidly blaming the media. They only care about what your money buys from them. And if you buy junk, they will make more junk, or pay devs to make more junk for them.

        • Reiswindy

If by crap you mean games like Bayonetta, Smash, Xenoblade X and Splatoon, then by all means yes, I will keep buying that junk.

        • Spirit Macardi

Reporting poor sales is one thing, but I’ve seen sites that have posted rumors and even outright lies about the system and/or its games as factual news articles.

  • Mind0105A

Well, last time I played a good sonic game was sonic adventure 2 “I guess”.

    • Your Face

There were plenty of good Sonic games after Sonic Adventures 2.

Maybe you just played the wrong ones.

      • Mind0105A

Like what? I remember I played sonic heroes and to me it was boring. Also, a game you play as Shadow. Recommend me a good one.

        • British_Otaku

Personally, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight and possibly Sonic Lost World 3DS (played the demo – really like it).

I appreciate how most of them offer one style of gameplay (running and jumping), let you balance avoidance in a way which means you take in a level and have plenty of characters or playstyles to get through levels.

Most people are going to recommend Sonic Unleashed PS3/360, Sonic Generations and Sonic Colours though.

          • Mind0105A

OK. I will try them. Adding to the list now.

          • TheManWithPants

Lost World 3DS isn’t that good, honestly. I have the full game, and it starts losing its “fun factor” after Windy Hill, the first zone in the game.

The game relies too much on flow-breaking mechanics and gimmicks such as the “stand still and wait for the homing attack targeting icon to charge up to max to kill a big enemy” system, boring puzzle levels, and of course, the wisps eventually are shoved down your throat and half of them don’t control well on top of that. The Parkour system gets forced at times too, and there’s loads and loads of bottomless pits in the game, adding to unfair difficulty for players.

Then there’s the new Special Stages that would be neat, except they’re motion-controlled by the 3DS gyro, and you’ll likely have to stand up and move around to beat them.

Boss battles weren’t anything interesting, and the final boss is an almost exact rehash of the final boss in the Wii version of Colors.

Lost World’s story in general wasn’t that good, either, to be honest. New one-dimensional villains that do nothing but be evil for no reason, and Tails spends half the game complaining about teaming up with Eggman when he didn’t have a problem with it before in previous titles. Knuckles and Amy were just… there. The game could’ve literally gone without them. The 3DS version doesn’t even have all the cutscenes; about 6 or 7 of them were cut from the 3DS version of the game.

The music was okay, but definitely the most forgettable main series 3D Sonic OST to date. (Boom’s a spin-off licensed game, outsourced to BigRedButton and Sanzaru, so it doesn’t count)

Lost World was just an all-around disappointment in my opinion. It wasn’t the worst Sonic game out there, but I can’t, in good faith, recommend it to anyone.

          • Thanks for the clarification, though I have watched video reviews (at least saw SomecallmeJohnny – that snow level looked like the worst thing since Dinosaur Eggs) which detailed much of this but I’m still interested in the game as I’m glued to portables in general and I ran out of tries for Windy Hill demo. :P

Here is hoping that there are TWO worthwhile levels in the game since Windy Hill made parkour (in one point you could even avoid a big enemy by just running up the wall) a joy.

I tolerated Sonic Generations 3DS, so I’ll manage with this… somehow. Both don’t have remarkable stories and seem like they don’t fully capture the charm of the console versions though I like the portable ones for getting other things right (the sense of control in Lost World 3D… at least the demo nothing else maybe and the 2D Sonic levels having springs which don’t bounce you on contact in Generations 3D).

I can’t recommend them to many people but at the least I know I’m going to get a lot of Sonic games (still need Colors, Generations, 06, Unleashed HD and SD and more) for cheap and enjoy them for what they are…

        • You haven’t played Unleashed through Lost World? They are pretty fun. The handheld games Advance and Rush are worth playing too.

I like them more than Adventure 2 btw.

          • Mind0105A

No. I still didn’t play them. I will try them.

        • You should play Sonic Colors for the Wii. Colors is likely my most favorite modern game for the franchise. It took Unleashed’s Daytime design and expanded on it. The writing is also amusing and I found that there was rarely a time where I felt disappointed with the scenes.

Also, it has basically my favorite final boss sequence/music evolution/toku reference. It’s pretty great.

          • Mind0105A

Added in the list. I have like 8 games to play now. Wow, I’m lucky.

          • Alexander Marquis Starkey

I’d go into Unleash’s Night Stages expecting a not tradition sonic game. I enjoy the beat em’ up action quite a bit myself (lots moves to use, but imo, lack/didn’t properly map certain mechanics that are very useful for beat em up games…and trying to mesh that with platforming may have been a bad idea. I go in just wanting to beat shit up, then I have to platform and puzzle solve through the stage. It’s not really bad, but the fun is up an down)

  • I see… and that’s all I really have to say.

  • Spirit Macardi

Come on Sonic, you were doing so well before Boom… You were actually getting back on track and even improving, but then… Just… Ugh.

    • British_Otaku

It is just a name of a mobile game. I can “sort” of understand feeling that a licensed game harms the track record of the series, but a mobile game when most people seem to ignore anything (especially Sonic) if it isn’t on a console.

Devil May Cry has had 3 games/apps on mobile for the most recent games, no one says a word about them. Rayman had a Sonic clone on mobile.

… With all of that said, this could be good and many users here probably have a bias strong enough that they will never try the game or even search up information again.

    • E.T.993

Tell me about how great were Sonic 4 episode 1 & 2, Sonic Generations(3DS), Sonic Jump, and Sonic Dash. Anyways, I prefer SEGA’s other games, too bad SEGA doesn’t want to localize them.

      • Spirit Macardi

        … What?

        • E.T.993

The joke was that these recent Sonic games were pretty ”meh” and not a step in the right direction. Just to show that Sonic was still a hit-or-miss franchise, but you didn’t get the joke, so I’ll just walk away awkwardly now.*walks away*

    • Leonard Norwood Jr.

hmm. Big Red Button and Sanzaru Games didn’t do so well with making Sonic Boom, even the cartoon holds up a lot better than the games, although can it really make it to 52 episodes. Because there’s hardly been nothing but reruns for the shows so far. And another Sonic game for the mobile, was not surprising. But everyone already counting this already against Sega, even if Sonic Boom wasn’t made by Sonic Team.

      • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

The irony? Sonic Boom is the best tv animated series I have watched based on Sonic.

      • Spirit Macardi

It definitely doesn’t bode well though. I mean, even if Sega didn’t directly produce Sonic Boom, they still signed off on it and released it in its obviously broken state. It shows a lack of care on their part, and that’s not a good thing.

  • NightzeroAX

The new Sonic Dash. Im hyped!

  • Anontastic

I’d have loved to be in the room when this was announced. The laughter must have echoed all throughout the building.

  • Strain42

Lemme start by saying that I actually really like mobile games, so this isn’t an anti-mobile game post.

Lemme also say that I even sort of enjoyed some of the other Sonic mobile games like Sonic Jump and Sonic Dash (even if they were a bit too grind heavy to unlock anything cool like extra characters)

    But…WHY!? Just…why? Why is this a thing?

  • Riverstyx9

    lol sega

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

    And Knuckles…

  • Hossi Blumengaarten

I remember when Sega was king but they made so many mistakes and after Dreamcast failing they died, the company that calls itself SEGA is not the SEGA of old, SAMMY bought Sega and ran away most of the talent(a lot had left by then)

that is why all the games suck, burn in hell Sammy

    • RunningWild1984

At least Virtua Fighter is still good.. right?

      • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

It’s still awesome but unfortunately people stopped caring about it long time ago. That’s why VF5 Final barely made it at the west as digital-only release.

I always prefer VF over Tekken. I hope VF6 will be more popular than older entries.

  • AaqibRawat

    Just stop sega .
    Please god just stop

  • 60hz

“I haven’t seen nor played the game but i’m going to hate on it all the same because i’m cool like that” said average internet siliconera commentor.

    • persona_yuji

Hey, watch it man, your coment is so edgy it’s making me bleed.

    • Ahtma

I haven’t seen nor played the game but I’m going to hate on it all the same because Sonic’s track record as of the end of this year is terrible and there’s really no reason not to.

      • 60hz

so basically you are in total agreement with my comment (and proudly so, it seems…)

        • Ahtma

No, I was making fun of your dumb comment.

    • Julian Esteban Soria

      Nice one XD

    • Ferrick

I don’t know, we acted the same way to Rockman Xover and lo and behold, it was shit, and considering sonic’s track record, what’s to say that this won’t suck?

      • British_Otaku

We actually had a footage and a logo before we complained about Xover right? And there were actually TWO anticipated Megaman games cancelled aside from Inafune leaving.

Responding to just a name being announced for smartphones where Sonic has a frequent game schedule, probably has few games in the last 5 years on consoles or portables you could have liked and the last disappointment was a licensed game and not developed by SEGA or Sonic Team in house is much more extreme.

        • Ferrick

Nah the complaints sprout after the logo and screenshots first appeared, then it got worst when someone made a perfect replica of it using flash

I dont know, to me unleashed, secret rings, knight, colors felt somewhat lackluster, while generations was ok, it really didnt help my view on their rapsheet

          • British_Otaku

Yeah, that’s the thing. We haven’t got screenshots, footage or a flash Newground perfect clone nor anything resembling Megaman’s record of game releases and cancellations (though I hear Sonic Boom had something of a development hell even as a licensed game). Why should we panic or complain when we ignored most of the other mobile releases, perhaps even the great Sonic CD port?

Did you try out any of the portable releases as well? Secret Rings and Black Knight specifically had much of the spark that I want from Sonic games since you have a lot of characters/builds/methods to experiment with as you go through levels and challenges where you take your time to avoid or effectively beat enemies.

If you say what you are looking for from a Sonic game, it has probably happened once of twice without you looking for it. Assuming it isn’t a Chao Garden anyway.

  • Pdugna

I wonder, do these people who attend these events in japan ever get excited anymore? Or are they just like, cynical like the rest of the industry is becoming?

  • AndyMAX

I like SEGA now days, the problem is that i like SEGA Japan not the west one, is true we gonna get Yakuza 5, but besides that there is nothing else to like.

    • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

And we will get it thanks to Sony.

  • aizen310

Sonic lost all relevance in a long time ago. It was RAD TO THE MAX back in those days, when “Genesis did, what Nintendidn’t”, but nowadays, barely any Sonic games worth the mention. And SEGA still thinks that supporting a sinking ship… no… a sub-marine… no… a decaying ghost-ship can resurrect the franchise. *sigh* I can live with one Sonic game per two or three years, but constantly feeding a corpse is just cruel :(

    • Haganeren

Don’t agree, i enjoy most of Sonic games released today.

I would agree with you if Sonic had a lot of concurrence…. But beside Mario, who does a Plateformer in 3D anymore ? Not a lot of people. So yeah, i always welcome a new Sonic 3D games and enjoyed most of them even if they weren’t the best of games. (Except of course “thing” like Sonic ’06 or Sonic Boom)

It didn’t even lost all relevance a long time ago because it sells quite well actually… Because, again, there is not that much games for this kind of public. (Except maybe Ratchet & Clank)

      • aizen310

Sonic is not even a proper platformer. It’s all about speedrunning through the entire game.

        • jinkusiraga

I have to question what the last few Sonic games you played.

          • aizen310

Sonic Unleashed, and I had the luck to play a little Sonic ’06. No more Sanic for me. It’s dead.

          • Haganeren

Dead for you, not for me and not for the rest of the world where Sonic actually have quite a lot of relevance. (Internet opinion, on the other hand, don’t have that much influence for this kind of product)

Also, for me, a plateformer is defined by a serie of environmental obstacle you have to defeat by various action. Jumping isn’t even obligatory ! That means things like VVVVVV is still a plateformer even if you can’t actually jump at all !

So yeah, Sonic IS a plateformer, just not one you enjoyed. If you don’t like the fact you have to speedrun all the time, Sonic Lost World isn’t like that for exemple. It’s quite a diversified serie which may be why there is so much problem with fans actually.

… I actually think one of the other problem was the fact it was “rad” during the genesis days. This kind of nonsense is what have been leading to game like Shadow the Hedgehog. Because Sega have to be more “rad” as time passes, i’m so happy Sonic is (mostly) done with that by now !

          • jinkusiraga

You missed out on Sonic Generations then. Probably would have enjoyed the Classic Sonic stages at least.

          • aizen310

            Probably. If it’s classic enough.

After those two games, I didn’t care buying a new Sonic. Too many good games on the market to stick with a corpse of a disappointment. People also say, that Sonic 4 Episode 1 was good too. I just… again, Episode 1? Since when did Sonic needed such a plot that needs multiple episodes. Well, it’s a problem for most of the modern Mario games too, to be fair.

          • jinkusiraga

Episode 1 was bad, Episode 2 was better, but not particularly good. Probably the best platforming experiences you could find would come out of either Sonic Colors for the Wii or Sonic Generations.
Colors takes what people liked about the Day Stages in Unleashed and makes them a bit more bearable to play as well as adding in the gimmick of Wisps to change up the gameplay a little bit. There’s a surprising a lot of 2D sections in the game that require at least decent platforming to complete.
The Classic stages in Generations are very reminiscent of the Genesis days and is probably the best attempt to replicate it to date. Modern stages are a more refined version of Unleashed Day Stage engine and Colors’ general style with a bit less encouragement on just “boosting to win” as many have called it since Unleashed. Not quite as much platforming as Colors had, but still a decent amount.
Personally I had fun with both of them, but I would definitely say Generations is the better buy, not to mention it’s actually relatively cheap these days. Top it off with the PC version having a rather large and widely supported modding community (though not by Sega or Steam) and it’s probably the strongest release Sonic has had in quite some time.

    • Sometimes I think people ignore Colors and Generations because how bad Sonic Boom is, like how people ignored the handheld games when 06 launched.

Really, his place in the industry is seen as a joke but I think he has some fun games over the modern years.

      • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

        Also add Sonic Rush.

      • Jeffrey Thrash

Having replayed Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes recently, the 3D games definitely play better overall to me, even “so-so” games like Sonic and the Secret Rings. I think what frustrates a lot of people (including me) is that every time Sonic seems on track to legitimately compete with Mario again, games like Sonic ’06 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric quickly dash that hope to the ground, which is probably why people tend to focus on the worst games in the series. At least in my opinion, the problem isn’t lack of quality or talent so much as the fact that the games aren’t guaranteed to be great or even polished all the time.

  • Nisx

i lost my fate on Sega and Sonic Team after sonic rise of lyric
it will be hard to get it back.

    • Solid Knight

Sonic Team didn’t make rise of the lyric.

  • Pandakids09 .

instead already putting a new Sonic game in the works they should making a god damn working game in the 1st place then making half assed shit all over again and wonder why Sonic isn’t doing well

    • Sonic Boom was the only “broken” major release since 06/Sonic Genesis actually.

  • Aaron K Stone

people need to remember that Sonic Boom is a goddamn spin off that was NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT made by Sonic Team
also all the fags who only bash Sonic for no reason can piss off
and btw, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and CD are way better that that overrated 2 and Unleashed is the best 3D Sonic, better that Adventure
    come at me bros

    • Haganeren

Oooh, but i remember, don’t worry. I remember that Sonic Team gave his licence to a no-good studio to make a spin-off with more advertising (with the TV show) than a proper Sonic game… To the point it’s Sonic Lost World which seem to be a spin-off instead.

Also, Sega obviously took the decision to release the game instead of cancel it or just pass it to another studio. I didn’t forget about that too.

I also like a lot the Sonic Team and their creativity… Even if sometime it’s an the expense of quality. I even liked Sonic R, Sonic Lost World (which is a favorite of mine) and Sonic & the Secret Ring. I always hated Sonic CD because the Level Design made no sense to me, as if it was a romhack or something but i can’t really see anything wrong with Sonic 3 & Knuckles… Except those Bonus Stage which was so annoying if you wanted to have the true end.

Sonic Unleashed needed to have only day stage to be as good as you tell for me… Since it’s not, Sonic Generations take the cake. Adventure is really a buggy game but i liked it… And still liked Adventure 2. To be honest, what i like about Adventure and Adventure 2 is that they were really trying to be ambitious with these one where Generation was a little more reasonable on scale.

Oh, well, opinions, all that.. But yeah Sega fucked up Sonic Boom, even if they didn’t made the game internally by the Sonic Team. They are responsible for the quality of what their subcontractor were doing.

    • Keep your composure, calling people the f word is offensive dood. I agree what you said, because Sonic Boom shouldn’t be an indicator of the series quality. I thought Lost World before it (which was Sega proper) deserves better treatment.

Do Sonic fans just act this bad to make the games look better by comparison?

          Ya funny.

Where to start? Typically most people who want their opinions validated put them forth in a logical respectful manner, versus ALL-CAPS and swearing. Just a little advice, but people tend to take you more seriously when you don’t unleash all your frustrations on them for whatever reason. You might of gotten some better actual replies had you not.

Let’s see, next, I’ll have to give you a warning. While it’s all right to not agree and get into discussions over the thing, and I can certainly emphasis with how a Sonic fan may feel frustrated with the recent turn of events, I still cannot in good consciousness allow you to insult and/or threaten my community, That is unacceptable, this is not YouTube, we try to have a higher quality of commenting here.

If you want to make your points, remember to be rational, and to keep the petty insults to yourself. Thanks.

Woah! A Sonic game on iOS! Clearly it’s being localized for being a shitty Sonic game, meanwhile, every other Sega franchises…

  • Brimfyre

Sadly, after playing the Sonic endless runner that is already on iOS I realized this was the inevitable future of Sonic. It’s the only Sonic game that has felt like Sonic should feel in years. The only downside is it is in the same Endless runner packaging that all the iOS games are in. If it was made to look and feel like an actual Sonic game, with actual levels, and not just endless running it might be pretty good.

As all the 3D consoles Sonics have shown us, as soon as Sonic stops running, the games fall apart. It only makes sense for him to run the entire time.

That said, Sega is still a disgusting hollow shell of a company.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Sonic 2015. endless runners and cameos in other games and media.

Sega: Hey capcom should we Megaman…Sonic?

  • Can someone buy like Sega, Square Enix and Capcom? Thanks.

    • Almost every Japanese company does mobile games though.

    • Derp Minos

You’re childish. Japan is all about mobiles nowadays.

      • I’ll add the joke hashtag so smart people understand it.

  • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

Even for smartphone games, Sonic Jump and Dash are too freaking boring. You know what would be a better idea for a Sonic smartphone game? A new Sonic pinball game or a game like the bonus stages at the 2D platform games.

    • Fronkhead

The Sonic Team logo is interesting: Jump and Dash were developed by Hardlight in Leamington Spa (UK).

  • Sayote

    Another endless running sonic games?

  • Setsu Oh

soooo the ‘dont worry sonic team is working on another title not that unchartedsonic the westerners are bludgeoning’ was a smartphone’s huh? didnt see that comng. steady evolution since wii’s sonic sand&knight up to this, huh?

does nintendo needs to step in here too, sega?

  • zero254

Way to stay in touch with your fanbase sega. Not like people have been asking for a sonic adventure game or anything. Sonic cycle continues. We might get sonic colors 2 sometime next year at this rate.
